Probably to completely hack and hijack the communicator so she knows how it works completely as she's not wanting to use something that may have a bug or monitor built in.

Last thing she wants is her communications effectively having positional data attached as metadata on each post.

That and to be able to effectively remove her identity on her posts with no replyback points unless she wants it. Although the icon I'm using may be the background. But with no name attached to the icon it'd be a mystery to the receiver.

Even though I don't think she'd be very chatty on the network outside possible private communications.
