Thank you for your question! There are no OOC steps required for canon update - while a note on the OOC comm or just discussions with CR that would be affected is nice, the actual process can be done whenever you like and however often you want.

The only stipulation would be that updates to brand new canon content should delay by at least a month after the release of said new content. There is more leeway for this in the case of TV shows or comics, where a week or so would be enough of a wait, but for movies, miniseries, and other canons that are released in large chunks, a month is best!
