player information
name: Roy
age: 20+
contact: journal pm
other characters: James Flint (~diagenesis) of Black Sails.

character information
name: Ellie (popular assumption is that her last name is ‘Williams’ but she’ll... never give it out anyway.)
canon: The Last of Us
canon point: post-game
age: 15-ish and change.

(canon) background: Wikia link. Let me know if anything needs clarifying.
(original) world:

abilities: Ellie’s a normal baseline human girl who’s maybe better with a switchblade than any fifteen year old should ever be. She has experience handling firearms, bows and building molotov cocktails, both smoke and shrapnel bombs, and knows basic first aid.

strengths:

Bravery.
Ellie is absolutely the girl who will bring a pocket knife to a gunfight and say ‘bring it on, fucker’ to whoever she’s going up against. She is brave with her whole heart, not only physically but also when it comes to facing her emotions and having difficult conversations. By no means is she fearless. She grew up in a world where fear was the only thing that kept her alive in a lot of circumstances.

Joie-de-virve.
She serves as a contrast to Joel in a lot of situations. She finds joy in the smallest things. Comic books. Learning how to whistle. She genuinely enjoys learning about the world the way it used to be, although she doesn’t seem to long to inhabit it. It's not that she doesn't see darkness, necessarily - it's that she balances it with the light still left in the world. She's wise beyond her years in many respects.

Self-Reliant.
With a notable absence of strong adult figures in her life for most of it, Ellie learned from a young age how to take things into her own hands. Nothing’s ever been handed to her, she wants to contribute and help when someone is around her because that’s her way of repaying the kindness of Sticking Around. She is clever and quick, capable of coming up with strategies and plans under pressure. They aren't always the best, but she's learning.

weaknesses:

Impulsive.
Remember that thing about a knife to a gun fight? Ellie doesn’t do a lot of looking before she leaps. She’s a very reactive person and can be extremely volatile, which can lead to her blowing small insults way out of proportion, leap to startlingly incorrect conclusions and just generally be a Teenager. She can be prickly and abrasive at the best of times, but it only worsens when she feels threatened. Due to canon events, she can also be very suspicious of New People.

PTSD/survivor’s guilt.
She’s a girl who has seen monsters, has watched people die, has herself killed living, breathing humans. She has learned some very hard, uncomfortable truths of the world. She is really, really not Okay. She knows it. She tries very hard to deal with it. But as the game progresses and certain events transpire we really see her go from someone who is outgoing and enthusiastic to someone who is very withdrawn and for lack of a better word, world-weary. She says at one point that she wants to believe that everything that’s happened should mean something, that their suffering can’t just be for nothing. Her greatest fear in the world is being alone.

Anti-authority.
Okay, so you’re an adult. Cool, now get fucked. Ellie isn’t really inclined to offer respect where none is earned, and since she also seems to have no sense of self preservation (probably as tied to the above) she will mouth off to absolutely a n y o n e. This ranges variously throughout the series from someone whose help she needs to someone who has her locked in a cage and has beaten her unconscious. She tends to assume that people ordering her around means they don’t trust her own judgement and ability, and she reacts accordingly.

skills (optional): she is definitely not going to want to go to school but doesn’t really have any appropriate job skills that aren’t like. Hunting animals or killing people. Up to you?
housing (optional): Maybe somewhere quieter? Not quite a private room but maybe something shared with just one or two people. Stronnnnng preference for being roomed with women, though, because if she’s put with a strange guy he might get shived in his sleep.
