character information
name: Kara Danvers
canon: DCTV (Supergirl)
canon point: 2x09
age: 25

(canon) background: Wiki
(original) world: N/A

abilities: Here is a nice rundown of everything. She will most definitely need to be nerfed because she's basically godlike, but I'm going to leave that up to the moderators.

strengths:
Compassion • She saved a mother and baby who'd gotten in a car accident weeks at most after she'd crash landed on Earth. Ever since, Kara has aspired to protect and help others and she hadn't been able to do for her cousin, who'd been a grown man already when she came along. Her desire to help others manifests in every facet of her life; with her friends, on the job as a reporter at CatCo, as a superhero. She'll even go to a whole other dimension to save a reality that isn't hers. Because that's who both sets of parents, biological and adoptive have raised her to be.

Loyalty • Kara doesn't have a wide social circle, so those she lets in are treated to her unwavering faith. She'll believe in the people she cares for, even when the evidence against them is pretty damning (such as Lena Luthor in 2x12.) Even when other friends and loved ones are doubtful.

Moral • Doing the Right Thing™ is important to her. No killing, no hurting innocents--and get the truth out there, no matter the cost.

weaknesses:
Naive • As much as her seeing the best in people can be a strength, it's also a weakness. Case in point: the version of Clark she knew warned her against putting blind trust in a Luthor. Chances are it may come back to haunt her. And for all her faith in her aunt Astra, Kara could not accept that the two of them might be at odds, and in trading her (she'd been a hostage) back in return for J'onn J'onzz's freedom, that put everybody else she cared about in danger. It's a flaw she still bears as of Season 2, despite reveals that even her parents weren't as squeaky clean and upright as she'd thought.

Hotheaded • This girl has one bad temper. In season 1, it was largely fuelled by her intense grief and abandonment issues, and that largely unexplored subtle resentment between herself and Alex (revealed prominently in the pilot and the episode 'Falling.') Now, she still gets her rage on, becomes frustrated easily and rushes headlong into unknown situations without having done any recon or formulating any plan. Something Barry Allen cautioned her to work on, and Mon-El chided her for doing. She thinks she can handle everything on her own, no matter what.

Arrogant • Which provides a nice segue to this final point: in season 2, she's a bit full of herself. Saying things like It doesn't bother you that I got all the credit for this one and I'm the personification of the American Way and every single time she berates Mon-El for not being eager to use his powers to 'save' humans, and lay down his life for people he's never met. Season 1's resolution taught her that she was powerful, in ways even her cousin was not. And being intensely jealous of him; for his success, and ease in fitting in on Earth, she jumps at every opportunity to fly out from his shadow. She's in need of a good helping of Humble Pie, and reminder that she really isn't a god and her word isn't law.
