riverview: applications

applications: open

Applications will be open from 10:00 PM EST on the 1st of every month until 10:00 PM on the 7th of every month. They will be processed as quickly as possible after they are submitted; if you have not received a response by the 10th of the month, feel free to contact the mod.

Applications will be open from October 1st until December 7th, and will be processed on a first-come first-served basis.

● Please post the entirety of your application in a comment to this entry.

Applications may receive a verdict of Approved, Declined, or Revisions.

Declined applications can be reworked and resubmitted during the next application cycle. If an application is declined 3 times, it cannot be resubmitted.
Revisions must be submitted within 48 hours of the revision request being sent out. If this is impossible due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mod.

● There are currently 58 Character Slots still available in the game.

● While the game is close to character cap, reserved applications will be processed before unreserved applications, with unreserved applications being processed at the end of the cycle until cap is reached.

Application Queue: All applications that would put the game over character cap will be placed in the queue below and processed on a first-come-first-serve basis. Applications in queue will be processed as drops happen, regardless of whether the application cycle is complete.

● Casts at or close to Cast Cap: Marvel Cinematic Universe: 15/15; Marvel Comics: 12/15

application guide

● Accepted character types: fandom, original, canon AU
● Non-accepted character types: fandom OC, AU
● The character limit is 2, with 2 apps allowed per month; players can buy up to a maximum of 4 character slots with AC bonus points. There is a cast cap of 15 characters per cast at this time.
● Linked samples should be no older than 1 year.
● Application challenges are not allowed at this time, but if you would like to apply for a character that is on reserve, please submit the application with "not reserved" noted in the subject line, and your application will be considered if the reserved application is declined or not turned in.

CLARIFICATION ADDED 04/02/2017: Applications must fit in ONE COMMENT on the application page. In special situations such as original characters or canon characters without an information link, please try to keep the summary concise and stick to major turning points. If you have been as concise as possible and it absolutely will not fit in one comment, please store the background section in an entry on your journal/musebox/website and link it to keep the application within one comment.

CLARIFICATION ADDED 02/03/2018: The Strengths and Weaknesses sections are a stand-in for the usual personality section and should relate to the character's personality strengths and weaknesses. These sections should not include anything related to abilities and the weaknesses should not be 'positives in disguise' (for example, stating that a character has a weakness to iron because they are a fairy would not be an acceptable response to the weaknesses section, nor would stating that a character is too generous). Every character has good and bad personality traits, please include both.

CLARIFICATION ADDED 03/10/2018: Linked samples must be from a publicly available source. Friends-locked samples are not acceptable for use (via screencaps or other methods), unless they have been unlocked and made public.

● A mod-created sample application can be found here. This is an example of a canon application. The strengths section has been filled out in bullet point form, and the weaknesses have been filled out in paragraph form - both options or a combination thereof are acceptable.

Sample Applications: Ronan Lynch (Canon Character; Written Background), Yuuri Katsuki (Canon Character; CRAU), Derek Hale (Canon Character; CRAU), Tolemi Pagoda (Original Character), Benjamin Holt (Original Character)

player information
name: Hawk
age: 28
contact: [plurk.com profile] solutionbeta
other characters: Victor von Doom ([personal profile] metalmenace)

character information
name: Abel Fletcher (Cerberus)
canon: Original
canon point: after Cain destroys the Clockless
age: 24 (dead for 2767 years)

(canon) background:
(original) world: Everyone is born with a Reaper in their shadow and a timer on their neck counting down until their eventual death. Only people possessing the power to see it, known as the Deathsight, are able to become Enforcers, basically ghost cops who make sure people try not to cheat death, deal with lingering ghosts without Deathsight, and make sure the living who also bear the Deathsight don't do anything stupid with their powers. In recent years, the Enforcers have also been tasked to death with cults and organizations trying to break death due to the presence of an immortal among the living. There's also a bit with Death and Destiny recreating the world and using their human twin sons (Cain and Abel) to know when exactly it's time for humanity to start anew.

Abel, surprisingly for an emotionless ghost, is actually the main character. He is the oldest person with Deathsight, his death was what made Cain immortal, and he's pretty much a legend to the point where the living know him by name. While he doesn't have much of a history due to dying at twenty-four and most of his death is spent murdering people, he is forced back into the world of the living to help raise one of Cain's descendants, an orphaned preteen by the name of Holly Fletcher, who used her Deathsight for profit. Through raising her, he is learning how to be human again, reconnected with the twin brother he doesn't remember, and is stuck babysitting two people with broken death timers until they can be fixed. Oh, and taking down an organization who is breaking people's timers.

abilities:
Death Magic: The only magic in his world, death magic is used by Enforcers to help them do their jobs better. While it can be used to do the usual fireballs and ridiculously showy magic stuff, Abel personally uses his magic to enhance his reflexes and strength, teleport from place to place, create ammunition for the weapons he wields or create weapons, and to understand the many languages he doesn't speak personally.

Deathsight: Like his brother and all of their descendants, Abel has the power of Deathsight, which allows him to see the timer around a person's neck that counts down to their eventual death or, if already dead, how old they were when they were died. I will be making sure to use a permission post to keep track of what Abel sees on people or if he can even comment on their timer.

strengths:
Cunning: For a guy that has only recently started to deal with the living again, Abel is very good at twisting a person's perception of him to get what he wants. While normally using it to manipulate very pushy parents during PTA meetings, he also uses it when on the job as an Enforcer, tricking people into either thinking he's weak or using his legend status as Cerberus to make people fear him.

Protective: If you get into Abel's good graces somehow (like being family), then he will do everything in his power to not only keep you safe, but to keep you happy. Now that he's gotten people back into his death, his big brother instincts have turned themselves back on and he will make sure that the people he cares about are kept alive and taken care of. Even people he's dealing with only for work reasons are under that umbrella because Abel takes his job Super Seriously and wouldn't want something to fail because of him.

Restraint: Despite being dead, Abel would be considered the cautious twin. Being trained more as a soldier or an assassin than a cop, he tends to stay back and see how a situation unfolds before putting himself into play. He would rather a job or situation take longer and work out right than to rush in and screw something up just because of a time limit or impatience from another source. Being as old as he is puts things into perspective and he'd rather do things right than to do something stupid and/or heroic.

weaknesses:
Emotionless: After centuries of working as an Enforcer and forced to hunt down and kill people, Abel tried to force himself into the afterlife and when that didn't work, suppressed all of his emotions so that he could continue doing his job without dealing with the fact that he murders people as a career. While he's recently been dealing more with people, his emotional spectrum is still very...limited and that's not about to change any time soon.

Over-Specialized: If Abel was a DnD character, he'd be one that was min-maxed to an insane degree. Because he has no memories of his life, Abel was specifically trained by the Reapers to hunt down and kill people to the detriment of everything else. He only knows two languages (Ancient Greek and very early Latin), doesn't know how to interact with people, and only vaguely knows secondhand how living people survive. He's been working on it, but it's going to take a while for him to get anywhere close to normal.

Rule-Oriented: Abel lives his death following the rules of the Reapers, which are many and all Enforcers have to follow them, but Abel follows them to a point where it would be unhealthy if he wasn't a ghost that's been around for nearly three thousand years. He obsesses over them to the point where if he was in a place where the rules aren't something he could follow, he'd start to unravel a bit and not know how to deal with things until he was able to find another focus for himself.

job skills (optional): working with horses, weapon making, repairing cars, singing
housing (optional):

network username: spot

network sample: While I am sure that people would normally introduce themselves upon arrival, I will disregard that for the moment and instead call upon those who have dealt with my brother, currently using the name Jacob Kane.

I apologize for him acting in any way that could be considered foolish and idiotic. He is currently what one would call a "work in progress" and it may take some time to train him out of his current mindset of not running headfirst into danger with no disregard for his own safety.

As for introductions, I am Abel Fletcher and to answer your questions, yes, I am dead, and no, my idiot brother did not kill me.

Nicodemus Archleone | The Dresden Files

player information
name: Levy
age: 28
contact: plurk @ [plurk.com profile] pathogenic

character information
name: Nicodemus Archleone
canon: Dresden Files
canon point: Small Favor
age: over 2000 years old but he looks to be in his mid 30s

(canon) background: Background/History!

abilities:

Nicodemus doesn’t possess an alternate form like all the other Denarians, this alternate form is known as battle shifting in canon. His human features remain entirely in tact when he uses his limited powers. His shadow, which is Anduriel the fallen angel that has possessed him, moves and acts on its own accord leaving no openings for Nicodemus to compromise himself. This mutual relationship is, in a sense, what helps constitute as Nicodemus’ battle shifting form. Anduriel takes a corporeal form and incapacitates its victims well away from Nicodemus to ensure that its host is well away from harm. It can also spread itself out to an enormous degree (ie: it's able to literally expand indefinitely along walls, floors, and ceilings, and in recent canon it even covers Harry in a dome like casing to try and smother him) Anduriel can also reform by pulling in the shadows of other things to regenerate itself.

Anduriel as with all the Denarians gives Nicodemus super human abilities such as: lack of aging, flight, millennia’s worth of knowledge, the ability to not be mentally compromised via telepathy or mind control, regeneration of damage done to his person (this is seen in Death Masks when Marcone fires a Gatling gun at Nicodemus and tears half his body to shreds. It takes only a fraction of a minute for him to reform his body), suppressing human magic practitioners powers like thorn manacles can do, and translating all spoken languages (including supernatural beings like ghouls – Nicodemus doesn’t demonstrate this but Harry and Lasciel do).

In the most recent book Anduriel's powers are described a bit more. It's now stated that Anduriel is also known as being the Master of Shadows, or the spymaster of the Denarians. Anduriel’s true potential is in using and obtaining information via people's shadows. Anduriel can zone in on a particular person's shadow and listen in on whatever that person says, it's also able to see through that person's shadow as well so writing is not an option to block it. This means that Nicodemus can basically see and hear anything within range of a living being's shadow regardless of who they are (however he has to specifically zone in on that person in order to here/see them. Most of the time however its white noise unless there's a specific target. So he can't hear every conversation going on ever, just ones held by certain individuals that he's focused in on.) Specific beings of power can block Anduriel's presence and powers to see into others shadows, like Mab, the island of demonreach (which is protected by a powerful living spirit) and angels or other beings of light.

Nicodemus also moves faster and is stronger than a normal human being. (Seen in Small Favor where he moves in the blink of an eye to attack Harry who was a few feet away). The extent of his power is unknown however, but with the two books he’s been in this much has been demonstrated. Magically speaking he doesn’t seem to possess much of a talent for it, but he is predisposed to working heavy, powerful, plague like spells.

Nicodemus cannot be injured by conventional means. Even the holy swords which the Knights of the Cross possess only seem to affect him little. They cut him, true, but he can apparently reform his body and recover quite quickly from an attack. Bullets are the same and other magical attacks as well. However powerful enough attacks can leave him stunned and have in the past sent him flying through walls and such. He’s indestructible but when force is applied he still has weakness to being pushed back, and takes time to recover. The reason for Nicodemus’ invulnerability is because of the noose he wears around his neck. Said to be the same noose Judas Iscariot used to hang himself, this grants him immunity from any physical and magical attack. However this noose is also his greatest weakness, the only way to seemingly incapacitate and kill Nicodemus is to strangle him with said noose. Another method of killing and incapacitating denarians is by removing the coin from their body, usually found in the person’s hand.

Lastly he has a few millenia’s worth of sword fighting experience and in his entire life there have only been two Knights of the Cross who have successfully escaped him and lived after a duel.

strengths:

- Brilliant: Nicodemus has a brilliant mind. He paces himself unlike other villains of the series, which is why he’s lasted as long as he has. Despite him not having a battle form he is still formidable with his sword expertise. Nicodemus also isn’t against keeping up with the times so where a sword would be meaningless he uses a gun instead. He’s an opportunist and he makes no move without careful consideration. Even how he chooses a new host for the coins he has depends on the person and their personality more than their physical prowess.

- Strategic: Nicodemus is all about the long game, it’s how he’s lasted for so many years despite having a multitude of enemies. Where he can exploit and use people he does so without remorse or care and when he can get ahead he does so without even batting an eye. For example when he wanted Harry to take a coin at one point in the series, and the other said no, he instead used a toddler as a means for Harry to pick it up so as for the toddler to not become possessed by a fallen angel.

- Charming: Even being a typical villain underneath it all Nicodemus comes off as being charming, grandiose, pleasant and with some form of manners. His typical calm and mellow voice only fuels this image and his lack of care in the most dire of situations aids it. However there are times when he is downright vicious and his smile said, in terms of Harry, to look like a crocodile’s.

weaknesses:

- Arrogant: Nicodemus’ major failing is that he believes himself to always have the upper hand. Unfortunately that’s not always the case when it comes to the people he deals with, so he’s often taken by surprise by people like Harry Dresden who do spontaneous and random things. He doesn't take it well when his plans fail either and he tends to hold grudges because of this. His arrogance has cost him more than once as well and even so he always manages to gain something from his loss regardless.

- Paranoid: Nicodemus above all else is a very paranoid individual. He doesn’t trust anyone and even goes to the extent as to cut out the tongues of his followers so as to make sure they never talk about him or his secrets. His only close compatriot is his daughter, Deirdre, whom he shares all his plans with. Outside of her there is hardly anyone that can really testify to who Nicodemus is or what his end goal is. That also might be because he destroys whatever knowledge is obtained about him throughout the years so that no one has any record of him to speak of.

- Sadistic: Nicodemus is of course a very sadistic and horrible person. He stops at nothing to get what he wants and will kill or hurt whoever gets in his way. For example it was him and his wife who caused the black plague in Europe in the 14th century and he would have started another plague in Death Masks had Harry not stopped him before he could do so.

Laura / X-23-23 | Logan | OU | Not Reserved

player information
name: Ashlee
age: 25
contact: simpledog @ plurk.com
other characters: N/A

character information
name: Laura / X-23-23 (She'll go by Laura Howlett)
canon: Logan / Xmenverse
canon point: End of the film
age: 11

(canon) background: Here!

abilities:

Pulled from her wiki, lemme save you a few clicks though:

Regenerative Healing Factor - "X-23's primary mutant power is an accelerated healing factor that enables her to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissues with far greater speed and efficiency than an ordinary human. She is capable of fully healing injuries resulting in massive tissue damage and blood loss, such as slash wounds and puncture wounds within a matter of seconds."

(NOTE: We can go ahead and assume that if she's blown up, burned alive, etc, she would be super fucking dead.)

Psionic Resistance - "X-23 and Logan were both not fully incapacitated by Charles Xavier's seizure-induced psychic attacks, allowing them to not only remain able to move, but potentially able to survive the fatal affects of the seizures."

Retractable Claws - "X-23 has two retractable adamantium claws in both of hands, and one in each foot. Her hand claws extend between finger's knuckles and the foot claws emerge above the base of her toes. Xavier accredits this to her gender, akin to how the lioness is the superior hunter of the feline breed.

Enhanced Strength - X-23 is strong enough to overpower adults far larger than herself with ease. Combined with her acrobatic ability, she was able was to defeat several Reavers, even when one of them had managed to pin her down with a cybernetic hand. She later flipped a store clerk over her head and onto the floor with one hand, before Logan stopped her from killing him."

Enhanced Agility - "X-23 possesses a high amount of flexibility and agility. She is able to perform gymnastic maneuvers, such as flips and springs, with little to no difficulty, in order to overwhelm her opponents. She is potentially faster than her father because she never had her entire skeleton infused with adamantium; only her claws."

Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant - "X-23 has shown to have some proficiency in hand-to-hand combat. She is capable of subduing multiple members of the Reavers with hand-to-hand combat alone, with little effort. X-23 combines her agility with her hand-to-hand combat skills making her a very capable fighter."

Multilingual - "Despite her normally silent demeanor, Laura is fluent in both English and Spanish."

Enhanced senses - Since she's Logan's clone, she likely inherited his super good sense of smell, sight, and hearing, though likely not yet as honed as Logan's (or I'm at least saying as much since she's a.) new to the world and b.) still pretty young.)

(As a note, her papa has been listed before as being resistant to drugs and anasthetics before in previous movies, and while she likely needs higher doses than normal people, she can be tranquilized and incapacitated and whatnot (she's put under for surgeries in flashback phone scenes). She heals, but she isn't immune to needing to sleep and eat and can definitely get her lights punched out if rattled hard enough.)

(... Also — a weird addition, but she has really good memory. She memorized an entire paragraph-long quote from a movie after only seeing it once in a Las Vegas motel. Apparently things stick really well in her head, man. I dunno if I'll ever use this explicitly, but I wanted to at least bring it up since it made me cock my head in the movie theaters, pfffft.)

Great fashion sense - muy bueno.

strengths:

She is a determined child, and mature in ways many children are not; obviously, being forced to grow up around terrible circumstances and being seen as a weapon has had negative consequences on her development, but it also has steeled her to the real world and danger. She's nearly fearless, difficult to frighten or intimidate. Once her mind is set on something, her will is difficult to veer into another direction.

She's also extremely independent for someone from her background, even if she's out of her element and unsure how to exist 'normally' right now. She's tasked with watching out for an elderly Charles Xavier and giving him his medications while Logan is out, for example. If left to her own devices, there'd be no doubt she'd find ways to survive and care for herself or others.

Laura is a curious creature, focused and interested in the world and what roams in it. Having never left Transigen for the entirety of her life, she quietly enjoys experiencing new things and enjoys learning as long as it's on her own terms. Most importantly Laura, despite her history, is far kinder than expected of what was supposed to be a living weapon. She shows concern for her nurse/caregiver Gabriela when she falls down and is injured, and she is seen holding Logan or Xavier's hand in times of their distress. She may be emotionally stunted in many ways but she has compassion for others. She will fight for whoever she's endeared to, and will not back down.

weaknesses:

Temperamental, and very much not a social butterfly. She is prone to fits, likely because she's never had a proper parental figure to address those issues growing up (in fact, they likely pushed for them to be as aggressive as possible, and Laura certainly allows herself to get wound up easily). She butts heads with Logan a lot and has a childish habit of annoying him just out of spite or ignoring what he says because she's terribly stubborn. Her and authority figures of any kind don't really mesh well, due to the fact that she's dealt with them far too long as it is. Her freedom was hard won and the idea of anyone looming to disrupt it makes her someone you really don't want to mess with.

She also is quiet — she doesn't like to deal with people or play the social card. In the film, she travels thousands of miles with Logan before she finally talks with him — her only source of interaction is a mental link with Xavier, and he appears to be one of the few people in her life she's enjoyed conversing with, albeit not out loud. She's the typical outcast, the odd student in the back of the class who never has anything to say but is always thinking. Her lack of interaction with the real world makes her someone looking in, and while she's mature in many respects, she's immature in plenty of other areas. She doesn't mind stealing things and doesn't consider the ramifications for breaking rules/laws out on the open road. She has a harder time making friends because of... well, you know, all of those things above this sentence — not necessarily aggressive toward new faces, she's often still withdrawn and not talkative.

job skills (optional): A kid who skips school sometimes. :)

housing (optional): no preference!

(*probably with some coaxing of things she actually likes, if that seems logical, otherwise she'd probably be boring and pick 'laura' and that's no fun)

character information
name: X’rhun Tia
canon: Final Fantasy XIV
canon point: Pre-Stormblood, having just arrived in Ul’dah
age: Unknown, but based on his backstory and dialogue from other characters, I’d say he’s somewhere in his 50s.

(canon) background: Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the land of Eorzea, and being an MMO, the story follows the adventures of the player character as they stop wars, kill gods, and all around save the day with the sheer power of being The Main Character. The world is a bit more traditional fantasy with some steampunk elements, though other nations in the world have a greater mastery of technology, usually to make up for a lack of magical prowess. In the latest expansion, Stormblood, red mages were introduced as a playable class.

X’rhun is the NPC who teaches the player character (who will now be referred to as the Warrior of Light or WoL) how to become a red mage. Even if the WoL chooses not to unlock the red mage class, X’rhun is mentioned by Alisaie, one of the WoL’s other NPC allies, as it is revealed that she has learned red magic from X’rhun while she was traveling.

If the WoL chooses to unlock the red mage class, they meet X’rhun just outside the city of Ul’dah. The WoL is beseeched by a small girl in the city to help find her missing sister, and upon stepping out of the gates, it is revealed that X’rhun has found the missing girl and is standing between her and a group of armed men. X’rhun easily dispatches the men with a flourish and with the WoL in tow, returns the girl to her sister’s side.

Later, over drinks, X’rhun reveals that he knows who the WoL is, either through Alisaie’s stories or through the news that has recently come from his home country of Ala Mhigo. (Stormblood’s story revolves around freeing Ala Mhigo from the oppressive rule of the Garlean Empire, who had invaded about twenty years prior to the start of FFXIV. So, the reaction X’rhun has to the Warrior of Light depends on where the player is in the story when they choose to do the red mage quests. ~MMO continuity~) He then offers the WoL the chance to learn red magic, and when the WoL agrees, he reveals that he will give his lessons while the two of them travel around, helping those in need.

Over the course of the questline, X’rhun explains that red magic was born in Ala Mhigo ages ago, when refugees from both sides of a war between black and white mages came together. The two groups set aside their differences and combined their schools of magic to create red magic. Centuries after the first red mages came to be, Ala Mhigo was invaded by the Empire. X’rhun and several others uncovered the scrolls containing the secrets of red magic, and donned the red as the Crimson Duelists to fight alongside the Ala Mhigan resistance.

Then one day, X’rhun returned from scouting to discover the Duelists had all been murdered in cold blood by one of their own, a man named Lambard who had joined sides with the imperial invaders. As the last of the Duelists, X’rhun spent twenty years searching for Lambard, but found no trace of him. During that time, and up until he meets the WoL, X’rhun traveled the world, offering his blade and his magic in the service of those who cannot fight for themselves.

abilities: Red mages are somewhat unique in the world of XIV. Black and white mages draw upon the aether (life force/magical energy) of the world around them for their spells, and while white mages seek to live in harmony and balance with nature, trying to give back to the world as they take from it, black mages can be extremely destructive to their environment to the point where black magic is, in fact, illegal.

Red mages, whose skills are born out of a combination of black and white magic, draw from their own internal sources of aether, using their own bodies as a conduit for their magic. This might limit them in comparison to the pure destructive power of a black mage or the sheer healing ability of a white mage, but red mages get by with striking a perfect balance between the two and spending the energies they build up though powerful melee attacks.

As the WoL’s red mage mentor, X’rhun has all the skills of a level 70 red mage, which can be found here. (Job Actions and Traits only. The Role Actions are exclusive to player characters.) A quick note about the spell Verraise: Canonically, magic cannot bring people back from the dead without resorting to some very dark and twisted stuff. Player characters who reach 0 HP don’t technically die, and instead are said to fall unconscious. A raise spell is used to wake them up and heal them somewhat. This is how this spell will function in Riverview as well.

It is also worth noting that X’rhun is a Miqo’te, specifically a Seeker of the Sun. Miqo’te have feline features, such as pointed, furry ears, a tail, and Seekers specifically have slit-pupiled eyes. Miqo’te are a race of hunters, with excellent reflexes, powerful muscles, and an enhanced sense of smell.

strengths:
Intelligent: X’rhun is no slouch when it comes to many subjects. He’s well-versed in history, especially the history of red magic, which he gives to the WoL in detail, geography, and even herbs. He’s also quite the detective, able to unearth a plot by a cult that has been kidnapping young men and women, by quickly pick up on leads and exercising a pretty good knowledge of the law to get the authorities involved at the right juncture.

Caring: When the Crimson Duelists were formed, they swore an oath to aid those in need “with heart and steel.” It is an oath that X’rhun still very much believes in and tries to uphold, even as the last of his order. He will jump to the aid of anyone who needs it, whether he knows them or not.

Capable: Even at his age, X’rhun moves and fights without any problems. When the questline finally leads him and the WoL to Lambard, the man who slew the Duelists, Lambard laments that X’rhun has always been the better fighter. X’rhun manages to best Lambard, even though Lambard has greatly augmented his abilities with forbidden means. It’s only through an underhanded use of those means that Lambard gains the advantage, otherwise X’rhun is a formidable opponent.

weaknesses:
Idealistic: His caring nature might also be seen as a weakness. He’s well-aware that the oath of the Duelists and the way he runs around championing for people he barely knows must seem foolish— in fact, word for word, he refers to himself as an “idealistic fool” to the WoL. While that faith in people and that desire to help anyone no matter what is admirable, he knows that it will likely get him into trouble one day.

Stubborn: When Lambard quite literally tries to suck the soul from his body, leaving him bleeding a vulnerable, he urges the WoL and Arya, another apprentice of his, to run. He’s not necessarily self-sacrificing, because he doesn’t actively try to place himself in mortal danger whenever he can, but he’s determined that this is his battle and he should see it through, even when he has the Hero of Eorzea willing to fight for him.

Blunt: X’rhun has a habit of saying what’s on his mind, whether it’s an innocuous observation or a bit of teasing at one of his comrade’s expense. He never tries to be malicious with these remarks, and often they are made as jokes, but sometimes he pushes a bit too far.

job skills (optional): X’rhun is an accomplished fighter and a pretty effective detective as well. He will admit that first and foremost, he wants to help people.
housing (optional): Any!

character information
name: Jake Jensen
canon: The Losers (movie)
canon point: Post movie
age: 28-30ish?

(canon) background: Wiki

abilities: Military tactical training, hand to hand combat, weapon proficiency (knives, guns, rifles, bombs), technological proficiency, communications specialty.

strengths: Loyalty - A trait he shows in spades to his Colonel and unit. When Clay says jump, he's already in the air before he asks how high. He will also willingly and knowingly face a likely suicidal situation for his friends and brothers in arms. He could have walked away more than once, but the crew is his found-family and he'll be damned if he lets any of them walk into a firefight without him.

Humor - Jake's a guy that likes to look on the bright side of life. He uses humor as a shield, as a defense mechanism, and as a way to moderate the rest of the crew when tempers flare. He's something of the 'baby' of the group, Captain or not, and it affords him the ability to get away with a quip or joke in the middle of bullets flying overhead or explosions. But it's something that works well with his group and is needed with the variety of other temperaments that come together. Besides, he looks amazing in pink.

Improvising - Need to get into a secure building? Put on some shorts and pretend to be a courier. Need an elevator all to yourself? Start singing "Don't Stop Believing" out loud and dancing along. There's always the outline of a plan in place, but even the best laid plans can go awry and Jake's aware of that. He's gotten good at piecing things together out of the broken scraps of a plan to try to make something stick long enough to make it work. For the most part, he succeeds. Except when it comes to dating.

weaknesses: Kids - He has a big weakness when it comes to kids, as do most of the rest of his crew. They risked getting bombed to kingdom come because of kids being on site, and it was the death of those same kids that started their vendetta with the faceless Max. He also risked getting caught on home soil to go visit his niece's soccer game, running out on the field when she got pushed down to yell at the referee. No one messes with kids when Jake's around. Even if it'll out him or land him a bullet in the butt.

Humor - It's a strength, but it can also be a weakness. Sometimes people don't take him seriously because of his penchant for making everything into a joke. When it comes to his crew, they know him well enough to know when he means it, but for anyone new to Jake, he can come off more flippant than he means to and it can affect how people perceive him. He's a joker, but he sometimes has a problem turning it off. Like when people aim guns at his dick.

Idealism - Jake's aware of what is shit and what isn't, but there's a part of him that hasn't quite had all the shine worn off of it, and that part pines for a happy ending. Even when there's no chance of one, he'll still hope. And it's that idealism that makes him the one more likely to be hurt more deeply by betrayal and lies from people he trusts, like when Roque switched sides and screwed them all over.

prose/action sample:
So this was home base now, was it? Magical portals and alternate dimensions? Sounded a hell of a lot like something out of a comic, and if anyone was going to know that, it was him. He was the quintessential geek. Or, he had been, before genetics had blessed him with a late puberty and he'd put down the comics for a set of weights. Joining the military had just seemed like the right thing to do, and contrary to popular belief, even the military needed geeks. His second love to comics, computers, had come in handy then, and he'd gotten to make a living doing something he loved and that he was good at.

Then there'd been that one mission and everything had gone to shit. He'd had his boys with him, had his backup, had his humor, but there'd been a few moments where even he hadn't been sure he'd be walking out of it alive. That any of them would be. And yet they had. Or had they? Maybe this was some kind of coma dream. Maybe the whole thing had been a bad dream and this was just an extension of it. Because really, man. Alternate dimensions? Come on.

Of course, dream or not, it was hard not to appreciate the creativity of it. To step outside and see the view of a planet from what he was told was the moon they were on. Jesus Christ. And that wasn't Earth. He'd seen enough shots of it from shuttles and satellites, had mapped enough of it to know that what he was looking at wasn't anywhere close to home. "Fuck," he said, softly to himself as he stood there off to the side, too out of it to really do much more than just stare. This had to be a dream... It had to be. Because otherwise... otherwise this was some epic levels of shit hitting the biggest fan out there, and he was here all alone. No Clay. No Pooch. No Cougar. Just him. That was the most unsettling part of all of it. If he'd wound up here with any of the others, he could have had a joke or some lame comment to break the ice, to get Cougar to roll his eyes or Pooch to punch him in the shoulder. Or a finger leveled at him from Clay along with an order to knock it off. Something he was used to. But this? Dream or not, it was the being alone here part that was throwing him off. He felt like he was missing a part of himself and he wanted to say something, make a joke to make it feel less... less, but who the hell was there to hear him?

He found himself still sitting there a couple hours later, butt slightly numb from the lack of movement and eyes sore from staring up at the planet that had shifted from one part of the sky to another as he'd watched. Nothing else had changed. No one he knew was coming along to tell him to get off his ass. People kept walking by, doing their own thing in this weird city. Sighing, he slapped his hands on his thighs and stood, stretching and wincing at the tingle to his ass as blood started flowing properly again. "Jesus, Jensen. Get a grip. Whatever this is, you got it." Right. He had it. He could do this. As long as he was alive and still able to move, he could do something. Checking into his bunk sounded good. Then maybe he could scope out the city and see what there was to see. Security. Tech. Hell, even what kind of bars or food stands there were. He was in the mood for a hot dog. Did alternate weird moon planets have hot dogs?

Only one way to find out.

canon: Transformers IDW
canon point: End of Sins of the Wreckers
age: mid 20s.

(canon) background: her wiki link

abilities:
hacking: we see her do this several times in canon, on Earth-based systems. She's not the world's best super villain uber hacker, or anything, but she can crack passwords and do simple viruses and the like, oh and a wee bit of credit-card fraud.. Someone like Cisco would be more skilled than she was, but then again, he'd probably use his skills for the purposes of, you know, good.

lockpicking with a side of breaking and entering: a teenaged life of crime will do this! Again, she's no master criminal, but a standard room lock won't stop her for long. A secure facility might take some time and cybernetic enhancement.

pickpocketing: this? This she's very good at. There's a good chance if you walk by her, you'll come away lighter the weight of your wallet.

piloting ships: what a weird skillset!! But yes, she can handle a Cybertronian spaceship and its comm systems. Which means she can read, and presumably speak Cybertronian.

strengths:
* loyalty: Whether to her (rare) human friends like Hunter O'Nion or her Cybertronian friends like Ironfist, Ultra Magnus, or Springer, Verity is lthe kind of loyal that will not even let you talk bad about her friends in front of her. She might trash talk them, but that's done out of love and to their faces. Once she decides she's your friend, you get the full loyalty package, but it's not the easiest thing to earn anymore. She's seen too many people (and mechs) she cares about die in front of her.

* courage: She hangs around with ancient, crazy-powerful giant robots, so she's not got any delusions of being ultra-badass that way, but, well, what else do you call a girl who was so pissed off at Prowl's betrayal that she decided to blackmail him, one of the most powerful, most devious mechs in the universe? It takes chutzpah, moxie, whatever you want to call it, except balls, because, yo, she's a lady.

* adaptability: Crappy home life? Become a runaway. Hunted by giant alien robots? Evade. Meet up with other giant alien robots? Make friends to fight back against the first group. Go into space? Join the Wreckers! Whatever the universe throws at her, she can handle. Bring it on! Now that she's been healed by Tarantulas, there's nothing she can't handle.

weaknesses:

* Verity really wants to belong. Her own family kinda sucked, and her group of hacker friends, well, fell apart, and the Wreckers...ain't wrecking anything anymore, after Garrus-9 and Overlord. The Wreckers were the closest to a family Verity had ever had--they didn't judge her, they took her along, they made her a part of who they were and what they did. Probably the best point in Verity's life: she had people who accepted her for who she was. Which is why it sucked losing them, and getting dumped back on Earth, sucked even worse. Oh, and finding out she was dying from Mysterious Cybertronian Cooties? SUCKED. Especially when her last remaining friend, the last buddy she could bond with, Stakeout, ditched her 'for her own good.' People suck, even when they care. And are giant robots.

* What is morality? Verity's got a pretty loose sense of right and wrong. The big example, of course, is deciding to blackmail Prowl in revenge. But there are plenty of smaller examples as well--swiping stuff from strangers, and all that. What Verity wants is what's 'good'. Anything that isn't? Is lame. That's about her moral code.

* She has nightmares. Because, hey, watching Overlord gleefully slaughter your friends in front of you kind of fucks you up. But hell if she's going to, you know, confide that shit to anyone. A girl's got her pride. Sorry in advance, roomies!

For the record [For the record, she can't pull off Ultra Magnus's dour voice for shit, but she's trying.] ALL of you are out of order. Report to my office immediately for a dramatic reading of the entire Autobot Code.

[The most dramatic of pauses.]

No pillows.

[Hahahaha she's fucking hilarious, right? Ooops, some of her cackles probably made it over the comm. Okay, time to drop the act, at least for a klik.]

prose/action sample:

Oh, no, everyone was freaking out about monsters. Monsters. Really. What the hell did they know about monsters? This stuff out here? Most of them looked like some kind of dyspeptic tree, and those animal-kind ones? Yeah, some crackhead's artistic rendition of elephants or something, like those pictures Hunter showed her once of what people in the Middle Ages thought lions looked like when it was clear they had never seen a real lion.

Or, hell, like how some comic book artists drew girls, which they'd clearly also never seen in real life. Boobs don't work like that, yo!

Whatever these stupid things were? They weren't scary. They weren't Phase Sixers. This wasn't the Noisemaze. This was just, you know, pissed off nature. Any idiot could handle them. Including one idiot, Verity Carlo, now that she got her power armor back.

She flexed her fingers in their power gloves. "Time for some punching therapy!" They weren't scary, but that didn't mean punching the crap out of them wasn't going to feel damn good!

character information
name: Arisu Tachibana
canon: The Idolm@ster: Cinderella Girls
canon point: Episode 40, shortly before her debut song
age: 12

(canon) background: Wiki, Episode 40 (Arisu's Solo Debut)

Adding on some additional summaries since her wiki is severely lacking and missing how she was recruited into the talent agency in Starlight Stage.

- Arisu was recruited by the Producer (the Player) to an unnamed talent agency while she was searching for the book store. Initially, she was frightened, thinking the producer was suspicious for calling her out. She threatened to scream, until given the business card. She claimed that while she was not interested in idols, she was interested in lessons such as singing and dancing. Ultimately, she believed that her parents would allow her to participate in becoming an idol.

- She showed up early to the agency for her first lessons, confident that she could do anything. Preparations for her lessons with the trainer weren't ready and she was assigned to do self-lessons for the time being. The producer was strict on her, telling her that she still required improvement. Arisu learned that working as an idol is tougher than she thought. When the trainer finally arrived, she started working on her true, first lessons. After the producer asked for Arisu's thoughts on her lessons with the trainer, she claimed that it was neither good or bad, but she believed that the trainer was being easy on her due to being a child. On the other hand, she felt that she could trust the producer, since he was strict with her. She felt like she was being treated as a full-fledged idol.

- At her first publicity photo shoot, she explained to the producer that she was interested in getting into work that involved self-expression such as singing. When her photo shoot began, she had difficulty smiling naturally for the camera and came off as "too stiff."

- At her first job on a kigurumi (animal mascot costumes) show, she over-analyzed one of the costumes and explained her observations to the camera. The cameramen wanted Arisu to act more "childishly and innocently happy", but she didn't think it's part of her character. However, the producer saw right through Arisu, knowing that she was truly happy with cute, childish things like kigurumi and stuffed animals. After Arisu's second attempt at being on-camera, she showed her more childish side and took a liking to the mascot costume.

(original) world: N/A

abilities: Arisu has been trained to sing, dance, and carries the experience of being placed before a camera and microphone. Besides having vocal technique and performance skills, she's an average human being.

strengths:

Mature - Mature and responsible, more than other children her age. Arisu is highly reliable and almost always left to her own devices while her parents are working. Her calm and cool demeanor might be even seen as more mature when compared to some of the other older girls within her workplace, who are much more childish and boisterous.

Supportive - Arisu gives assurance in tense situations through calming, heartfelt words and simply being present for a friend. She provides her support by taking up other jobs for friends, regardless if the task doesn't match her public image.

Honest and Logical - Her manner of speaking is usually logical and straightforward. Fumika refers to her speech as "pure, un-decorated words." She keeps her statements clear, usually to the point. Analogies sometimes fly over her head as she takes it literally, while she recommends a more frank answer.

Knowledgeable and eager - For anything Arisu lacks experience in, she has the knowledge. She does her research, often on her tablet. Not just limited to openly accessible resources, she also consults others on their own personal experiences. She's especially enthusiastic learning from older girls, wanting to know about their education or what makes their skin look beautiful for her future reference.

Open-minded - Arisu is granted the opportunity with working together with people of many different personalities in her talent agency. She is more mature than other children, yet doesn't reprimand her peers for behaving childishly and is usually seen getting along well with others. She takes an interest in everyone's unique personality, even those that irritate her. Her eagerness drives her to learn more about a person's likable qualities.

Observant - As a result of reading too many mystery novels, she's observant and tends to over analyze objects, sometimes even musing her inspections out loud.

weaknesses:

Stubborn - She gets wrapped up in trying to act like an adult and doesn't openly embrace her more childlike qualities, although they are not necessarily negative aspects. She dislikes being called cute, treated like a child, or being referred by her first name, "Arisu" which sounds similar to the children's book, "Alice in Wonderland." She's quick to correct others to call her "Tachibana" instead. Though, she will allow anyone that has grown close enough to her to call her by first name. When behaving in a way that might seem childish, she's quick to catch herself in the act and becomes a blushing, stammering mess before trying to regain her quiet composure.

Honest and Selfless - Arisu isn't honest about her own wants and puts others before herself. While it's a positive trait to be selfless, there's importance in being able to care for oneself. When she wants the attention of her parents, she can't bring herself to speak to them and places the importance of their jobs over her own needs. Though she often speaks with honesty, she has her moments when she keeps her issues bottled up to avoid burdening others. However, it's easy to discern when she's troubled with her unusual behavior. If she can't speak honestly, then the truth that something is wrong will be written all over her face.

Competitive and challenging - She's easily baited into doing tasks out of her comfort zone, if she's convinced that she's doing something that will improve herself. Her nervousness shows, but she takes up the challenge all while insisting that it's something she's completely fine with. Challenges can be helpful to her self-improvement, but results sometimes lead Arisu into making a fool of herself. She becomes an easy victim of teasing.

job skills (optional): Singing, dancing, being on-camera, and radio shows. She's interested in strengthening her singing expertise and wants a career in music.
housing (optional): No preference!

network username: a.tachibana

network sample:

[ Whenever given a job to do a presentation in front of large groups of people or having to appear on a radio show, Arisu would always show a moment of hesitation and nervousness. Recording herself on the network to the public was no different. Singing and dancing in front of crowds felt easier, perhaps it's more easier for her to get into a musical mood.

She was unsure how to type out her thoughts and resorted to an audio recording for this moment.

The shakiness is easily notable in her voice, as she pauses in between words, trying to carefully formulate a sentence. ]

...good day. I'm Arisu Tachibana. Please call me Tachibana.

If I could have a moment of everyone's time, I thought it would be the best course of action to poll the public. I'm gathering data for my job. I have a few proposals for my next photo shoot.

So far it's... Tachibana Plan A: Science Fiction. Plan B: Uniforms. Plan C: Magic. Um... it's not limited to these proposals only. Please let me know if you have any further suggestions.

prose/action sample:

Arisu Tachibana. Alice Tachibana. As much as she dislikes her given name, she's truly beginning to feel like "Alice in Wonderland" after coming out of the portal. The reality that she's in a new world and on a moon took a while to sink in and she did as much as she could to grill the attendants with questions, to ensure everything wasn't an elaborate stage prank set up by the talent agency. After that, she was introduced to her new home. What else could she do, but attempt to live a normal life until she was returned to her real home?

The first several days in the Quarantine wound up being annoying. She hated having to rely on a case worker to handle her meals and escort her to and from school. Granted, the free meals gave her extra time to do whatever else she wanted to do that day. It meant extra practice time for singing and dancing. Still, she felt like she was being treated like a child. At some point, she finally took matters into her own hands and started to prepare meals in the eating area on her own, just as she used to back home. Mother and father were too busy with work, so some days she had to be the one to prepare her own dinner.

With her trusty tablet in one arm, she scrolled through the network with ease for a recipe that was bookmarked earlier. She often used her tablet for research back home and did similar while in the Quarantine. Getting used to the technology was easy enough for her. Setting the device aside on the counter, she rolled up her sleeves and readied herself to start preparing the ingredients.

Pausing in the middle of chopping, she glanced back at the currently empty eating area. At the moment, she wondered if anyone on her floor were intending to come home from work. Or was anyone in their room, sleeping at the moment? Perhaps sometime, she should try to get to know them better.

Quietly, she wished for their company. Otherwise, this dinner would just be as lonely as the dinners without her parents.

character information
name: Osomatsu Matsuno
canon: Osomatsu-san
canon point: almost at the end of episode 24, after all of his brothers have left the house, but before Osomatsu receives an important letter...
age: 24

(canon) background: Osomatsu-kun || Osomatsu-san || Osomatsu-san episode guide || Osomatsu Matsuno
(original) world: n/a

abilities:
★ Osomatsu is your average Joe Human. He has no super powers, but he does seem to have a few things he is good at. One of those things is leadership. For some reason, this loser is able to get his brothers to do things, whether it's through a half-assed speech, or blackmail, which he is not above doing. He's also extremely lazy, so if he can talk someone else into doing the footwork for him, more power to him.

★ Osomatsu has an easygoing and cheerful personality. Above everything else, Osomatsu wants to enjoy life and have a good time. He loves to joke around, even in serious situations. He's the type of person who wears a big dumb smile and may laugh during a disaster. This doesn't necessarily mean he is mean-spirited. It just means he can find something humorous about any circumstance. He doesn't think before he acts or says something. He just does it, especially if it means that he can have fun in the end. Osomatsu is fairly good at masking how he really feels when he wants to.

★ When women or money are added into the equation, Osomatsu's motivation is increased. He is a man that will do anything for a buck, or for a hug, as was seen in the Rental Girlfriends episode. One skit even has him actually getting a job so that he may be more appealing to his childhood friend, Totoko.

★ One time, he threw a tantrum in an episode where his parents decided to divorce. That tantrum won over his mother, and she agreed to claim Osomatsu as one of her dependents because she liked that he was "a little needy." ...I suppose that is a skill.

★ He also really gets his family. He knows what to say when his brothers are upset. In the tenth episode, there is a scene where Osomatsu and Karamatsu are fishing, but Karamatsu is worried about being "painful" (in the series, the word "painful" is used to describe Karamatsu, who is painfully embarrassing). Osomatsu tells Karamatsu that he just needs to be himself, and everyone else needs to get used to his painfulness. He is a pretty good older brother, when he wants to be. He is supportive of Jyushimatsu when he gets a girlfriend, even going as far as not telling Jyushimatsu when he discovered the girl was in an AV.

★ (One more thing I should probably mention is fourth-walling, which will absolutely be toned down, if need be. He seems to be aware that he is an anime character, and will now and again make comments about his show. Again, I don't plan on this being a huge deal with him, because he can function without saying things like that, but I thought I should at least add it to his list of abilities.)

strengths:
+ easygoing: Osomatsu likes to take things as they come. He doesn't plan ahead, and he rolls with the punches. It's fairly easy to get him to do something, or to go along with an idea (unless he thinks his own idea is better). He doesn't care what other people think about him, and he doesn't try to impress outsiders.
+ durability: Because he is a gag character, he can take a lot of punishment. Osomatsu has been beaten up, had things thrown at him, and just has taken on a lot of damage. He also gets into fights with his brothers and usually comes out on the losing end, because he is so weak. He is still alive and kicking, despite this.
+ family oriented: Osomatsu's brothers mean a great deal to him. He would do anything for his family.
Not only is he loyal, but he really understands what makes his brothers tick. Yes, he uses them to meet his own gains every so often, but he wants them all to have fun together in the end.

weaknesses:
- laziness: Osomatsu hates working. He doesn't want to work. The only thing that can get him to actually come close to getting a job is when he might have a chance to score with a girl. Otherwise, Osomatsu is content to play games at home.
- greed: With an addiction to gambling, Osomatsu's greatest weakness may be money. He will do anything for a quick buck, and he is constantly seen at the pachinko parlor, or the horse races. He steals from his little brothers on a regular basis.
- poor sport: If he gets mad, or things do not go his way, he will become vicious. Osomatsu is a sore loser, so he jumps into verbal fights with insults that hit below the belt. He is not adverse to changing the rules to suit his needs, especially when he wants to win. And if he doesn't win, expect him to throw a tantrum.

job skills (optional): leadership, personable, friendly
housing (optional): it would be nice if he could be placed with his brothers! otherwise, randomized is okay

character information
name: Casssian Andor
canon: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
canon point: right before his death
age: 26

(canon) background: on the wiki!
abilities: Cassian is a soldier and a spy and comes with the skillset needed to do both jobs well in an intergalactic war. He’s a skilled sniper and marksman as well as being combat trained. His technology skills are high enough to reprogram an imperial droid and turn him into his One True Ally. He’s also an excellent pilot (the space ship kind).

In not so nice skills, Cassian is also a well trained assassin and saboteur, with a captaincy rank as an intelligence officer. He’s a very good spy, quick to blend with a crowd and people watch. His observation is smart and concise, at least when it comes to his surroundings, and he’s very analytical. It makes him very adaptable and quick on his feet. He’s good with his words, able to speak exactly how he needs to depending on what the mission asks; his ability to get a good read on a person lets him figure out the best way to approach them, aka great job manipulating captain. He’s just a regular old human though with zero superpowers, prone to all the same weaknesses humans are.

strengths:
resilience: Physically, mentally, etc. Cassian’s stamina to continue on is enormous. He’s been fighting in the galaxy since he was six, which makes him very tired but very stubborn. He refuses to give up, whether it’s on a person or on a mission for the Rebellion. He literally fell off a tower, probably broke several bones in his body, then proceeded to climb back up the tower because the mission wasn’t over and he was still alive. He’s fairly cool and collected in the face of emotional and/or physical duress.
perception: Cassian's ability to read a situation is uncanny. He's analytical and logical, quick to understand situations and people in front of him. It allows him to make snap decisions and to deviate successfully off an initial plan. While on Jedha, he notices a subtle tension in the air and recognizes Partisan movement in the crowds that gives him a warning about the battle that's about to come and he immediately alters his plans.
hope: Cassian is pretty cynical, but he believes in the Rebellion wholeheartedly and is originator of the infamous "Rebellions are built on hope" line. After he meets Jyn, he even starts to have a little more personal hope too. Her inspiration enables him to start making better life choices for himself, not just the Rebellion, and it's because he remembers how to Truly Believe in things again.

weaknesses:
guilt complex: The amount of guilt Cassian feels is comparable to Jupiter. His sense of self worth is tremendously low because everything he’s done for the Rebellion is so terrible and weighs heavily on his shoulders. Instead of processing any of it, he just shoves it down like a completely healthy person. To keep going, he doesn’t like to deal with his own mental exhaustion and would rather just believe the worst of himself. Spies do the dirty work, but it kills him to do it.
loyalty: You might think loyalty is generally a good thing, but Cassian can be and is often loyal to a fault. He’s so dedicated to the Rebellion that he essentially destroys himself from the inside out, all under the guise of doing the right thing and following even the most awful orders. His loyalty to Jyn, and the rest of the Rogue One crew, leads him/them on an unsanctioned mission that eventually leads to his death, despite the successful part of stealing the plans. His loyalty is self-sabotaging.
trauma: "I have been in this fight since I was six years old." Cassian was a child soldier and he is now 26. Two decades of his short life have been spent fighting a never ending war in the galaxy, and it's come at a high personal cost. His emotional competence is poor, and his only friend at the start of the movie is a droid he programmed himself. He doesn't trust easily and he doesn't want to, because hypercompetence as a spy leaves little room for a real life outside of Rebellion.

job skills: technologically competent, data analysis, combat trained
housing: a higher level floor please, an unoccupied shared room if possible!

prose/action sample: link two which may look very familiar but also: any thread after their death would be considered an au thanks canon, but it's canonverse and how cassian would continue to think and feel had he lived, which would be similar to him in riverview! another sample can be provided if needed c:

character information
name: Jyn Erso
canon: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
canon point: Immediately prior to death
age: 21

background: WIKI LINK

abilities:
Jyn is an expert fighter, having spent the best part of her formative years with an extremist rebel faction being trained as a solider for the Rebellion. She's trained with a blaster and a baton and presumably other weapons she isn't seen wielding. If all that fails she will just punch or kick or bite until her objective is achieved. Girl lives to fight. She also inherited her parent's intellect and seems to absorb information easily without it needing to be dumbed down for her, evidenced by the way she trained herself to be an expert forger while with Saw's Partisans. She's good at puzzles.

She is also human and, as such, fragile and breakable, and while intelligent she isn't some kind of walking, talking genius, she's just clever and resourceful. Her weaknesses are all the ones that would apply to a particularly sturdy (and stubborn) human, including sleep, nutrition and water, all of which has been insufficient in her life.
strengths:
  • RESOURCEFULNESS: Growing up an orphan in the resistance meant a lot of Jyn's survival depending on learning how to work with what she is given and boy howdy is she good at that. She can smuggle weapons into prison. (She doesn't, she chooses her mother's necklace instead but she could have and has done in the past.)
  • SELFISHNESS: This is again mostly due to survival, but Jyn really wants to survive and she will hit you square with a shovel if it means her safety. She will steal your shit for her safety. She puts herself number one. This also means she fights incredibly hard for what she believes in because it's something she cares about deeply and the success of her cause is a personal achievement.
  • CAUTIOUSNESS: Trust no bitch. Words Jyn Erso lives by. It has kept her alive for over a decade. She stays awake instead of sleeping so her prison cellmate won't murder her in her sleep.
  • ANGER: Girl is so angry and it's this anger that sees her through so much. She survived motivated by spite alone and refuses to let herself fail because she refuses to give into the haters.
  • weaknesses:
  • RESOURCEFULNESS: Jyn's resourcefulness sometimes means she will steal a blaster right out of your bag on your ship and then tell you, to your face, that she found it. Cassian learns this when that is exactly what she does like god damn girl. She is unapologetic in her desire to find and take resources she needs to survive even if it means sowing distrust and alienating people.
  • SELFISHNESS: As a defense mechanism, Jyn doesn't allow herself to care about anything but herself. She was a child soldier, she needed to be selfish. Unfortunately, this means that she comes off as uncaring and unempathetic to other people's plights but it's not borne out of discompassionate feelings, but a survival technique.
  • CAUTIOUSNESS: Jyn has been abandoned so many times that she developed a sort of indifference toward people in order to protect her emotions. She holds people farther than arm's length because letting anyone in gives them the opportunity to hurt her the way she was hurt when her mother died, when her father was taken away, when Saw abandoned her... This is another defense mechanism but it damages her emotionally because she is alone for so long and barely remembers how to feel things anymore to the point that when she does feel something again, it nearly debilitates her.
  • ANGER: Jyn is so angry that, I am sure you will be surprised, she pushes people away. It takes a lot of effort to get past her walls and she puts all the onus on the other person to break down her walls and even the she doesn't let them in. Needless to say Jyn doesn't start out with a lot of friends.
  • job skills: expert forger (data files) | great fighter (hand to hand) | excellent babysitter (better with kids than adults)
housing: fourth floor private room or an unoccupied third floor shared room please!
