● Casts at or close to Cast Cap: Marvel Cinematic Universe: 15/15; Marvel Comics: 12/15

application guide

● Accepted character types: fandom, original, canon AU

CLARIFICATION ADDED 04/02/2017: Applications must fit in ONE COMMENT on the application page. In special situations such as original characters or canon characters without an information link, please try to keep the summary concise and stick to major turning points. If you have been as concise as possible and it absolutely will not fit in one comment, please store the background section in an entry on your journal/musebox/website and link it to keep the application within one comment.

CLARIFICATION ADDED 02/03/2018: The Strengths and Weaknesses sections are a stand-in for the usual personality section and should relate to the character's personality strengths and weaknesses. These sections should not include anything related to abilities and the weaknesses should not be 'positives in disguise' (for example, stating that a character has a weakness to iron because they are a fairy would not be an acceptable response to the weaknesses section, nor would stating that a character is too generous). Every character has good and bad personality traits, please include both.

CLARIFICATION ADDED 03/10/2018: Linked samples must be from a publicly available source. Friends-locked samples are not acceptable for use (via screencaps or other methods), unless they have been unlocked and made public.

● A mod-created sample application can be found here. This is an example of a canon application. The strengths section has been filled out in bullet point form, and the weaknesses have been filled out in paragraph form - both options or a combination thereof are acceptable.

My apologies. Somehow his extreme responses to emotional pain didn't make it into there when I was copying everything to the comment. For clarity, I'll do this point by point and re-write. [word count 299]

  • Daryl is often socially awkward and has difficulty letting people get close due to his childhood abuse (both physical and emotional) that extended long into his adulthood. Even those he thinks of as family and would die for, he keeps at a distance and doesn't share much of his past with. Particularly the parts that he thinks are shameful or would come across as 'weak'.

  • In add in addition to his self-esteem, he has some fairly extreme body-image issues due to the scars left from when his father took the belt to him. He dislikes taking his shirt off in the presence of others unless he's forced to or it's necessary for a doctor to have a look at him. This all plays into his desire to not to telegraph that he's struggling with coming to terms with his abuse and the recovery efforts involved. He'd rather no one recognize them, and if they do, they not bring it up or try to talk to him about it.

  • Daryl's emotional responses to pain and loss tend toward the extremes of either highly volatile anger (less often now, but still common enough) or episode where he mentally shuts down for anywhere from a few hours to a few days. He'll go through the motions and follow others, do what he needs to, but it'd largely a state of disassociation where he can try to ignore the pain, anger, and fear that's caused him to enter it. While he's like that, working things out, he becomes very subdued and generally unresponsive. This sometimes ends up with him being outright hostile to anyone that tries to approach him or confront him while he's in that state. Usually resulting in him yelling and being verbally abusive in an attempt to push them away.

It's not confirmed MCU canon, but it also hasn't been confirmed the other way concretely. It's kind of up in the air, and given the way current character backstories have borrowed from different comics runs to different degrees, I'd like to not rule out the possibility of it coming up in MCU canon in the future.

Would it be all right to just play her true to the app's abilities section without calling it anything in particular? All of her skills have been exhibited or discussed on screen, so there's no ambiguity there. The issue really wouldn't come up for her in the game, so it's safe on that front. She's not going to be sharing any deep dark details of her past with people, and this way it doesn't shut down the possibility that further exploration into her backstory in upcoming movies might give us more concrete details.

(original) world: (WARNINGS: Violence, suicidal thoughts, rape, depression, drug use, self harm, child abuse, domestic abuse, torture/mutilation, Iunno everything that could make someone uncomfortable?)

Dodger comes from a world basically parallel to ours, except that a choice few are born with mutant abilities.  These can be as mundane as being able to shift things a bit to the left or glow in the dark, to being able to move others by manipulating their blood or hack technology by speaking to it. Due to a somewhat prejudiced attitude toward mutants, they have a high probability of either hiding their abilities or ending up criminals. Those looking through the deep web often go for mutant hitmen, as they are considered specialists and often can complete tasks that would be impossible for a mundane human.

James Walker was one such mutant, coming from a poor but loving family that accepted him and tried to push for the rights of mutants for the sake of their son. Maddison Kingsley was a mundane human, coming from an uptight and rather stereotypical British heritage with parents who wouldn't even hire mutant staff for fear of corrupting her. In a classic retelling of Romeo and Juliet, the two of them ran away together at the ages of 17 and 16, after meeting when James' parents scraped the money together to bring him to England. But soon after they got to America, Maddison discovered she was pregnant, and James disappeared the next day.

Maddison managed to scrape by with what little she had, but her head was just barely above water. By the time her son was born she was homeless, sleeping on the doorstop of one of the restaurants she worked at each night after everyone had left and pretending to have just gotten there in the morning. Her son was named Jamison after his father, and she gave everything she could to ensure his survival. Jamison struggled to survive his first years, and Maddison turned to stealing just to have enough food for the both of them.

Things went on like this for about seven years. Then Maddison met Benny McQueen, the ringleader of a gang called the Sun Riders. In simple terms, they'd been a biker gang dynasty since the 50s and kept the traditional aesthetic going. Benny took an interest in Maddison, and began providing food for her and Jamison in return for company. For a while, this was a blessing, and both of them were regularly fed for the first time either of them could remember. In Jamison's case, quite literally. But after a few months, Benny's benevolence turned into blackmail. He started pressing Maddison for sexual favors, and withholding food from both her and Jamison when he didn't receive it. Soon after this began, Jamison watched his mother starve in front of him while trying to hide him from the gang.

He was quickly found, and Benny began treating him like a prince to pull his thoughts away from his mother. Benny took him in, letting him share a room with his biological son Anthony and affectionately referring to him as Jamie. Jamie and Anthony were subliminally taught to rival each other, and in most cases Jamie triumphed. He excelled at their homeschooled lessons, grew taller and stronger, and when they grew old enough to accompany Benny on missions, Jamie's mutation gave him the makings of a killing machine while mundane Anthony couldn't even shoot straight.

Jamie started being trained as a proper member of the gang at age 12, and by 14 he had been generally accepted as the next leader of the Sun Riders. He'd gained the name Dodger, for his fighting style that relied heavily on teleportation and his knack for getting himself out of trouble. And to avoid the embarrassment of his birth name, the gang only knew him as Jamie Dodger. Anthony had gained the nickname Duke, and while he was the one who actually had the last name of McQueen, the gang regarded him as a far second to Dodger. Dodger would have prefered to be second - but part of that had to do with the fact that Duke was largely ignored by his parents, while they tended to beat and starve Dodger as part of his daily discipline, or even if things just weren't going well for Benny.

Around the same time, Dodger met his first girlfriend. Janet was 18, and Dodger looked older than his age from the stress of his life. He managed to lie his way into convincing her he was an adult, and that he had a respectable job as a street musician. Over the next two years they would sneak dates whenever he had time, and he started to think of her as the only thing keeping him alive. He had built an elaborate web of lies to keep her or the gang from discovering each other, but Benny started to have his suspicions after a few too many missions were skipped in favor of dates with Janet and nights spent at her house.

Dodger was 16 when Benny finally figured out who Janet was, and was outraged. During their argument that night Benny broke a bottle and raked it across Dodger's face, giving him his infamous scars. Shortly afterward Dodger threw him into a table, broke off its leg and stabbed it into Benny's chest after beating him to death with it. Stumbling away from the wreckage of their fight, Dodger grabbed Janet and convinced her to elope with him.

Janet and Dodger moved from place to place over the next 4 years, never settling too long in one place. Janet no longer believed he was a busker, after he showed up on her doorstep covered in blood that night, but he refused to answer her questions and she was somewhat afraid to ask. Dodger never managed to hold a job, always finding some way to get himself fired within a week. He relied on Janet's income wherever they went, blowing money on booze and cigarettes and passing out drunk on the couch most weeks. Every complaint from Janet was met with threats from Dodger, and every threat to leave was met with tears and begging for forgiveness, just for him to fall back into the same habits.

Finally, her patience ran thin and a physical fight broke out. During it, Dodger grabbed Janet and smashed her head into a wall, resulting in permanent brain damage. Janet managed to knock over a cabinet, knocking Dodger unconscious. When he woke up, Janet was long gone and their apartment was on fire. He had just enough time to rescue his few belongings and go back to wandering the streets.

For a few weeks Dodger was homeless and hungry, sinking into deeper and deeper levels of desperation and despair. He was very close to giving up and submitting to starving on the street when he stumbled across a group claiming to be a branch of the Church of Satan. With very little at stake, Dodger agreed to join in exchange for a place to stay and a bit of food. As it turned out, they were less of a group of satanists and more a perverse cult under the impression that they could bring about the utopia through drug abuse and sexual energy. Without going into too much gruesome detail, Dodger spent the next three years serving the cult by engaging in orgies and drinking cocktails of drugs and blood that by all accounts should have killed him.. and did kill several people while he was involved in the cult.

This, like many stages of Dodger's life, ended abruptly with tragedy. After being blacked out for several days, Dodger woke up semi-sober on a sacrificial slab with a knife raised above him. He managed to get out of it by grabbing it and forcing it into the cult leader's throat and slaughtering several people in his path, and after escaping got enough memories back to realized he'd been raped repeatedly while semi-conscious. From that day forward he made a sport of hunting down members of the cult that had escaped him, as a form of coping with his trauma.

This led to another long spell of senseless wandering. Dodger hit a new low, seeking sex and drugs just to keep himself in a strong enough haze to avoid his anxiety and depression. When the next part of his life found him he was bordering on 24, drunk off his ass and so high he'd forgotten how to speak English.

This new chapter came in the form of Victor Augustine, a smooth-talking crime boss from the bronx. Despite his self-destruction and harrowing addictions, Augustine saw potential in Dodger as a perfect assassin. He adopted Dodger in some form or another, giving him enough money to live on and feed himself on the promise that Dodger would sober up.

Dodger took to his new lot in life like a fish to water. Within a few months he'd managed to wean himself off of most of his addictions, sticking to heroin, alcohol, cigarettes and the occasional binge of speed. He managed to pay for a crappy studio apartment in the city on the money Augustine gave him for spying on competitors and killing off anyone who tried to sell illegal goods in Augustine's territory. Over the year that he's worked for him Dodger has developed a debilitating crush on his boss, seeing him as an adonis and a saint, but any advances on this front have been met with disdain and harassment. For now he sticks to acting as Augustine's shadow, having created such a name for himself that those who work for Augustine are fearful of saying anything against him even in private, lest Dodger catches them. His boss may treat him like shit, but Dodger's living the best he's ever lived. He's blinded completely by circumstance.

A quick "where are they now" segment: James Walker had a girlfriend named Karen Jacobson, who gave him a daughter named Jacqueline and later lost touch with him. Walker runs a private detective agency, although Jackie serves as his secretary and the main brains of the operation. Janet lives with her friend Lisa, since her brain damage has rendered her unable to safely live on her own. Unknown to Dodger, she was pregnant when they broke up and managed to have a daughter named Maddison Jane Smith. Maddie was named after Dodger's mother, as Janet knows that's what he would want. Duke now runs the Sun Riders, and due to his mother's insistence the gang is working full-time to find Dodger and torture him for betraying the gang. They have yet to get anywhere with that, since Dodger knows all of them too well and is too paranoid to take any chances. Almost none of the original gang are left, as several of them died over the years and several more left due to Duke's poor leadership skills and the constant bickering between him and his mother. Dodger knows almost nothing from this paragraph, and it will probably never be referenced in-game but it's all fun facts for those interested.

    abilities:
    - Teleportation: He can teleport up to 10 feet in any direction, as long as he has the energy and some room to land. This can be stacked, but he gets easily tired out by teleportation and needs a breather if he goes too far too quickly. He can move through walls during teleportation, and as time effectively slows to a halt for him while teleporting he can place himself with extreme accuracy. Teleportation causes a loud popping noise, as well as a flash of sparks moving vaguely in the direction he went in, so it isn't particularly stealthy.
    - Fire: This includes manipulation of his body temperature, fire resistance, lighting his fingertips on fire or throwing fireballs roughly the size of a fist. While he can set other parts of his body on fire, that's not particularly useful and it's unlikely to. Mostly, he uses it to light cigarettes.
    - Invisibility: Usually as a fear response, he can turn invisible at will and it takes relatively little energy. However, it doesn't stop him from making noise and all of his other powers draw attention to him while invisible. His clothing turns invisible with him, but his fire does not, and neither does anything he's holding. Generally it works on Rule of Cool (ie, plot convenience).
    - Strength: He's strong enough to lift an average-sized car, and would probably be able to lift a truck with a bit of effort. He has finely tuned control over this to avoid hurting others unless he wants to, but.. he tends to want to.
    - Mundane abilities: He can ride a motorcycle, play guitar, juggle up to three objects and sing. He's a decent dancer, but most comfortable dancing with a partner. He has approximate knowledge of botany and chemistry, and extensive first-hand knowledge of human biology. Because he's terrible.

    strengths:
    - Cautious: Often to a fault, but he has a knack for planning to avoid being caught off-guard. He dislikes being on the receiving end of surprise, and as much as he loves senseless violence he likes to make sure it happens on his terms. Thus, he's likely to put a lot of effort into building the defenses around the city, and hunting monsters around the perimeter. Though, to be fair, this is all for the benefit of himself and the few people he cares about. He rarely worries about the greater good.
    - Resourceful: Along with not being particularly picky about living conditions or food (he'll sleep on the floor and eat garbage as long as he stays alive) he has a knack for taking what he's given and making the best of it. If anyone is willing to listen to him, he can manage them well according to their particular strengths. If he's stuck on his own, he's very good at managing his time and figuring out where to find what he needs. The worse a situation he's in, the more serious he becomes about not only fixing it, but making sure to get the best objective outcome for everyone involved. That being said, by "best objective outcome" I mean "he'll get everyone out alive, but they'll probably all need to go to the hospital later".
    - Good with kids: Dodger has a soft spot for children, and strives to be a good paternal figure despite his otherwise distasteful personality. He still swears like a sailor around kids, but he'll be happy to teach them about weapon safety and political ideals (which their parents may not appreciate, and he doesn't care), and responds with very thinly veiled joy when the opportunity arises to pick a kid up or get a hug from them. And while he doesn't understand kid's shows at all, he's happy to listen to kids ramble about them. This sort of applies to young women, too; feminine women instill a strong sense of protectiveness in him, and while he may come off as misogynistic (because he is) he's happy to protect those he perceives as defenseless.
    weaknesses:
    - Selfish: Dodger calls himself an objectivist, but it's partly an excuse to be a jerk. When making decisions, he'll generally lean toward whichever gives the best result for himself. He takes care to make deals that are nearly equal, but slightly tipped in his favor, and if someone expects him to set aside his safety to save someone else without a reward they can also expect to be disappointed. Once he starts to care about someone they may become a factor in his choices, but he isn't above sacrificing his friends for his own benefit. Give him enough money and he'd sell his best friend into slavery. He draws the line at hurting children, but even that is negotiable... a child possessed by something, for example, is no longer considered a child unless he has a prior attachment to them.
    - Psychotic: Really an understatement; Dodger has an endless source of rage boiling very close to the surface. While he usually suppresses it with alcohol and drugs, it's very easy to annoy him and he's very quick to turn to violence when someone ticks him off. In fact, he's likely to be found in bars or alleyways starting fights just to waste some of his excess energy, or even as a form of exercise. His anger often erupts without warning; he's been known to smash a glass over someone's head just for asking how he's doing. Even without rage, Dodger's got a few screws loose and really isn't against things like cannibalism and mutilation just to satisfy some freak version of curiosity. While that part of him is under pretty tight control, if he has an opportunity to torture someone without too many long-term consequences he tends to really go to town with it.
    - Depressed: The aggression is really just a stress response at its core. Dodger spends a lot of time self-medicating, but refuses therapy or any sort of actual support because he feels a strong attachment to his depression as a part of himself. Dodger has tried to kill himself before, and will likely try again, since the urge is pretty much a whim away. He has no close attachments, many bad memories and a generally low sense of self-worth, so convincing him to stay alive is... an uphill climb, at best. The smell and sight of roses causes a huge spike in anxiety, as do the sound of breaking glass and any attempt at sexual advances where he is expected to be submissive.

    skills (optional):
    - He has exceptional strength and endurance, so he's good for physical labor.
    - He's essentially a killing machine with very little regard for danger, making him a very efficient guard (though taking orders is a weak point for him).
    - He's a good mechanic, with a specialty in motorcycles. He's also pretty decent at fixing up other things.
    - He is pretty much completely amoral, and willing to do anything legal or otherwise to get money.

housing (optional): For the comfort of other characters (and their players), it may be best to give him a private room. He's not a very good roommate.

    network username: dodger

    network sample:

    Dodger doesn't like therapists.

    prose/action sample:

    Some smashing shenanigans.

    And some monster-fighting too.

    character information
    name: Marcel Gerard
    canon: The Originals
canon point: Season 4 episode 1.
    age: 211, he looks 25ish.

    (canon) background: Very thorough wiki.

abilities: SAME LINK AS ABOVE but it's A Lot so:
    - Super strength/speed/reflexes/senses. Average superhero stuff, and the speed seems to only work in bursts, like for fights or if they need to get somewhere, they can superspeed, but it seems to require conscious effort (unlike, say, Barry Allen who can do it all the time as long as he's eaten enough tacos)

    - Mind-control. THIS IS THE SHIFTY ONE. It's called compulsion, vampires can tell humans what to do or how to feel about something and the human is compelled to do as they're told, they can't stop themselves. They can be confused about it, and not want to do the thing but they have to do it anyway. However!! Marcel doesn't use it often and he's never used it for evil on screen, he just makes a girl forget she saw a violent attack so she's not traumatized.
He wouldn't use it in game either unless it was a big emergency and then I'd talk to everyone involved ahead of time.
ALSO!! It can be fought (very hard and can fuck someone up) OR prevented via the consumption of vervain. While a human has vervain in their system, they can't be compelled.

    - HEALING BLOOD!! The blood of every vampire can heal humans when ingested. It's very handy. It's also a thing Marcel super won't bring up.

    - BITE POTENTIALLY LETHAL TO OTHER VAMPIRES. This is very canon specific, because of ~~shenanigans~~ Marcel's been upgraded from regular vampire to The Most Specialest vampire, which means if he bites a vampire, the vampire will gradually lose their mind and die. He wouldn't use it and also it probably wouldn't be lethal even if he did because different universes and so on.

    - IMMORTAL and pretty much invulnerable. Due to aforementioned shenanigans, eve though he CAN be taken out of commission temporarily, Marcel, straight up, can't be killed. Fire doesn't work, stakes will knock him out but he'll get back up, same with broken neck and actually tearing out his heart from his chest. Again, as the season progresses this will probably change, but as far as we know right now, there's no way to kill him.

I don't think he needs to be nixed because strength and speed-wise he's well under like, Clark Kent levels. And he's not gonna make any trouble. Even if provoked his first impulse will be to attempt to de-escalate. Also in a canon full of terrible people he's very firmly on the good(ish) guys side.

    strengths:
    - Determination! Once Marcel has a goal in mind, he's like a dog with a stick, he doesn't let go until he has what he wants.
    - Charima! He knows how to win people over and has a kind of magnetic personality that inspires trust and loyalty in the people around him.
    - Loyalty! He's a ride or die guy, once he's on your side it's really really hard to get him to stop, and he will do absolutely everything in his power to protect the people he cares about.

    weaknesses:
    - He's very controlling and inflexible. (though he's working on it, kinda) he believes in rules, once the rules are set and everyone's aware of them, he's very unforgiving if they're broken. He's also very controlling, he wants to know everything that's happening with everyone everywhere at all times.
    - VOLATILITY! Tied to previous point and also to upbringing, he has a temper. It's not a murderous one, currently, but it used to be. He gets really scary really fast when he gets pissed off.
    - VINDICTIVE! I'm not saying he's in the wrong here, but he is completely ruthless when anyone fucks with his people. Especially if they fuck with his people in a way he can't fix. He'll hunt people down and kill them and if they come back he'll kill them again.

skills: He's good at a lot of things because he's so old. If possible I'd like him to have an advisor role of some kind? Like, helping people come to terms with their new circumstances. Alternatively, he won't be making a secret of his own abilities and he can help with construction or as a messenger or whatever's needed, really.

    character information
    name: Morgan Knight
    canon: Mage: The Ascension
    canon point: January 2027
    age: 22

    (original) world:
Morgan and his twin sister Andrea were born in 2004 to Maureen and Andrew "Insane Rampaging Bulletstorm" Knight; the former a Euthanatos mage, the latter a medium ranking werewolf (Adren Glass Walker Ahroun). Despite being parents, both Knights still had duties and no desire to shirk them; consequently, a few years later, a massive ambush by the local fomori population lead to their unheralded deaths.

Disposition of the children fell to one Siryn Valkonan, longtime family friend and mother of Stephen Valkonan. Her first and foremost concern was to get the children out of danger; the Knight name was well-known to many of the Garou's supernatural opposition, who would have gone to great lengths to seize and destroy or corrupt a werewolf cub. Andrea was that cub; Siryn sent her to be raised amongst the Garou where she would be safe. And to ensure Morgan could not be captured and used against her, or his Kinfolk blood exploited, she pulled a few strings with her martial arts mentor and had the baby sent to what amounted to a boarding school in the mountains of Colorado. To all outward appearances, it was sort of a 'theme' school, for troubled children or those kids whose parents wanted them to grow up in that particularly structured environment. It emphasized discipline, strength of body and mind, and martial arts. Beneath its surface, of course, it was run by the Mage Tradition called the Akashic Brotherhood.

Morgan grew up healthy, strong, a decent student, and a very competent martial artist. The teachers at the school made no pretense of being parents, and offered no filial love, but Morgan worked hard for their praise and respect as a substitute. After the first few years, the wishy-washy or those who simply didn't fit had washed out, and the remaining children of his level solidified into a fairly tight-knit group. One unintended side-effect of this was that dating opportunities were thin on the ground, when one looked at the girls one knew as closer to siblings than anything.

During one spring break shortly before graduation, the school came under brief attack by a scouting party of evil mages known as Nephandi (or rather, it hadn't been intended as an attack, but it turned into one as soon as the Akashics put together just who had attempted to blithely enter their temple and investigate under innocuous disguises). In the middle of the fray, Morgan was ushered into the basement -- where the hidden vaults had been left open after one of the senior monks had taken something from them. Eager to help with the fighting, Morgan picked up a rather fancy-looking weapon -- and abruptly found himself bound to it, body and soul. The traumatic binding experience shattered the already somewhat-fragile barriers that protect the human mind from understanding the true nature of reality, and he Awakened as a mage.

Worse off, the weapon in question was the Tradition Blade of another Tradition entirely, the Celestial Chorus. They immediately demanded the weapon back, but the Akashic Brotherhood, after inducting Morgan into its ranks, elected to take the long view and indicated that it not only had no way to forcibly separate Morgan and the sword, but would not do so even if it could.

Morgan graduated at 17, and at that time was finally told about the inheritance and legacy of his family waiting for him back in Pittsburgh. He returned there to claim it, and abruptly found out that, like his father before him... he was now a multibillionaire. The Knight holdings stretched across a vast swatch of American business, and his personal fortune had him set for life. More intimidated by this turn of events than anything - he had lived quite frugally, and quite happily, for years at the school, after all -- Morgan did not go on the spending spree and debauchery one might expect from a suddenly-wealthy teenager, except in one respect. He commissioned the world's most awesome car.

As a consequence, Morgan met Stephen Valkonan, and from there got back in contact with his parents' old friends and allies. Much drag-racing ensued between his Ferrari Infinity and Stephen's car, Black Sunshine.

And yet Earth, as a whole, intimidated him. The world outside of the school was massive, and he had become an instant celebrity in it, as the handsome rich with a dramatic past are wont to do. It was then that he and Stephen had the idea to follow up a legacy of the Valkonan family, and chased down what they understood to be a portal to a High Umbral Realm.

It turned out to be another world, a cosmic nexus where people and creatures of all kinds clashed. Intrigued, they kept coming back; Morgan was particularly fascinated by a world where he could introduce himself as just another guy, not rich or special or hunted by the Celestial Chorus.

...He failed spectacularly in so many respects. He was out of his element and unfamiliar with the whole process of meeting new people and making friends. He alienated Stephen on more than one occasion, botched interactions with peers and elders alike, ruined dates and chances at dates, damaged his relationship with his sister almost irreparably, was selfish and stupid and whiny...

And yet somehow he made friends, found some people who would forgive his flaws, and met one of most influential people in his life: one of the most skilled Akashics and martial artists on the planet, Nhairis by name, agreed to be his mentor... and in time, his adoptive mother. From her and the other people in his life, he reforged himself into a better person, a stronger man. He found the strength to have dates, to adopt others as his family selflessly, to at last separate himself from the sword that gripped his soul... and ultimately, to find happiness with a girl; one Diast Malorna. (She also happened to be a Jedi Knight, but that was just icing on the cake.)

They were married for a year or so. Six months into it, she was sentenced to death for crimes she allegedly committed as a sleeper agent. (Morgan never was clear on the details.) Six months later, the sentence was finally carried out. Those intervening months finally made Morgan grow up all the way.

    abilities:
Morgan is a Mage of the Akashic Brother Tradition. Bluntly, this means he can perform 'magick', or in other words, replace reality with a version more to his liking. To put it another way, Morgan believes so fundamentally that he can, for example, heal someone with acupuncture, that his belief is actually capable of making it happen.

Awakened Magick, as this is called, is not a list of powers, but a list of possibilities. Based on his knowledges of Spheres (areas of influence), Morgan can perform any effect he can think of within the range of these Spheres.

Spheres and what they cover are at this link. Each level of knowledge includes the ones below it, of course.

    Morgan's Spheres are:

Correspondence 2: Sense Space, Touch Space
    Forces 3: Transmute Minor Forces
Life 4: Alter Complex Patterns, Transform Self
Mind 2: Read Surface Thoughts, Mental Impulse
Prime 2: Weave Odyllic Force, Fuel Pattern, Enchant Patterns, Summon Prime Weapon, Activate Quintessential Matter & Forces
    Time 3: Time Manipulation

Morgan is also an exceptional martial artist, and practices a style called simply "Do" -- the Way -- which is an ancient Akashic martial art of unsurpassed skill and elegance. He is proficient in the use of guns. He is a competent businessman who has successfully started run his own company.

    strengths:
Grounded and Confident: after everything Morgan has been through, he is pretty damn centered and balanced. He is difficult to upset, difficult to dismay, and difficult to discourage. In many ways he's achieved inner peace and acceptance of life: accept what must be, the pleasure with the pain, the downs with the ups, and live well.
Always Striving to Learn: Akashic philosophy is that everything is martial arts. As a consequence, Morgan always tries to learn new things and improve on what he already knows. This also lends itself to optimism and eagerness, as well as a willingness to take on difficult tasks without hesitation.
Generally Decent Morgan's generally a good guy. He's not perfect by any means, but he likes people, tries to help them where possible, but tries to respect them as well. It would be easy to solve problems by throwing money or Magick at it, but Morgan always gives others the choice, even if they choose not to accept his help.
    weaknesses:
Hiding His Own Problems: After years of being a screw-up and burdening others with his issues, Morgan believes he has absolutely no right to do that to anyone ever again, and no right to complain in general. When things are going poorly or he feels down or something upsets him, he won't reveal that if he can help it -- even if he really should, to feel better, to a friend...
Likes Fighting A Little Too Much: Morgan has never QUITE been able to reconcile how much he enjoys fighting with the fact that the sort of fighting he enjoys is pointless -- one must either solve a problem without violence, or solve it with the most effective violence, which martial arts is not. He's a bit too eager to spar or show off if he can find an excuse.
Vain: He claims he isn't, but he heals every scar he's ever had, keeps his hair long and glorious, uses magic to not have to shave, and is generally too proud of his good looks.

skills (optional): Fighting means he's probably on the Guard...
    housing (optional): No preferences.

    name: cisco ramon
    canon: the flash (dctv)
    canon point: end of 2.04
age: 26 (not stated in canon so this is a guess)

    (canon) background: here
    (original) world: n/a

    abilities:

    GENIUS
cisco is a genius. there's no other way to put it. in order to achieve the position he has by the start of the series, he must have skipped grades and graduated early from college. we see him demonstrating exceptional ability with computers, both hacking and software creation. he is a mechanical engineer who invents whatever gadget is called-for by the situation. he also is responsible for the creation and design of all the various superhero suits in the show (so: aesthetic abilities, costume-creation, and also incorporating technology within clothing). cisco thinks on his feet well and copes well in high-stress situations, still able to use his intellect to come up with solutions that will keep everyone alive

    METAHUMAN POWERS
though by this canon point cisco has only begun to scratch the surface of his powers, they are vast. he is capable of harnessing multidimensional energy, which allows him to create breaches between different universes (and eventually between different locations within the same universe), to channel energy through his hands in a powerful vibrational blast, and to have visions of the past, present, and future, including timelines that have been erased by time travelers. he can pull people into his visions, or into strange otherdimensional spaces (the speedforce, weird dream universes where everyone sings and dances, etc.). it has been hinted that he could be capable of disrupting a speedster's connection to the speedforce. however, as i stated earlier, the majority of these abilities are currently unknown to cisco, who has only just begun to scratch the surface of what he can do, and who is terrified of his powers.

    strengths:
    LOYALTY / HEROISM
cisco is absolutely ride-or-die for the people he cares about. he is self-sacrificing and willing to give up his time, energy, emotion, well-being, and even life if it will help his team (or help save people in general). cisco doesn't think twice before he puts others before himself, and he does his best to see the good in the people around him, or at least, the potential for good. the very fact that cisco brings up time and again his fears about hurting people or "going over to the dark side" shows how important it is to him to be gentle, helpful, and good.

    RESILIENCE
cisco has not exactly been handed an easy life. but despite his brother's cruelty and his parents' scapegoating, he grows up into a talented, kind individual. we don't know much about his background but know he comes from "humble beginnings" and still manages to excel academically, which tells us that he is capable of making the most of even a scrap of an opportunity. throughout the show, we see cisco bounce back after heartbreak, and trauma, and setbacks galore. he is someone who is good at picking himself back up (and someone who has HAD to be, based on the lack of help and empathy offered to him by others).

    HUMOR / FRIENDLINESS
even at the most dire moments, cisco is ready to boost team morale by offering a bit of witty commentary, or else a pertinent pop culture reference. he has a lot of happy, enthusiastic, and positive energy which he shares generously with the people around him. cisco is willing to befriend just about anyone, and once someone is his friend, he will put in an almost endless amount of emotional labor to make sure that they are not only okay, but living up to their full potential. a lot of his value to team flash is not only his powers and his tech, but his ability to understand what the people around him are going through and to be there to support them, whether emotionally or through direct action (offering strategies, making tech, etc).

    weaknesses:
    TRAUMATIZED
cisco was profoundly impacted by eobard's betrayal, and by being murdered, in a way that shaped the person he became. he is frightened of situations and scenarios that he wouldn't have given a second-thought before dying. before his beloved mentor turned out to be a supervillain, cisco already had a vein of vigilance and distrust buried under his optimism - that has since been cranked up to eleven. this can lead to him being unnecessarily harsh, jumping to conclusions, and avoiding things or people out of misplaced fear. his traumatic experiences have also shaped his relationship with his powers: he first experienced them by reliving something horrific, and then was told by someone he was just coming to think of as pure evil that the powers were a gift from him, cementing the association in cisco's mind between his abilities and eobard thawne.

    NEED FOR VALIDATION
it is easy to trace the origin of cisco's need for validation - his parents did not understand or appreciate his talents, or him generally as a person. when he was growing up, he was bullied at school and a social outcast. this means that, when it comes to current friendships, he is willing to bend over backwards in order to keep others happy. he will put on a brave face even when he is desperately scared or unhappy, because he doesn't want to worry his friends. he also goes out of his way to prove himself - as a good friend but also as a good engineer. cisco's need for praise, attention, and validation may not seem overtly like a character flaw, but might (and has) lead him to overlook injustices, to not take care of himself, and to put himself in dangerous situations.

    SELF-ESTEEM
cisco thinks very little of himself as a person. barry is the hero, he is not. though he is happy to do his best to fulfill the role of fun side-kick, it is very difficult for him to imagine himself as the one in the spotlight, or as someone who actually matters. cisco's insecurities run deep. on a romantic level, he does not see himself as attractive or desirable (partly the legacy of his bullying, partly as a result of not having many loving and supportive relationships in his life generally). cisco grew up being constantly compared to his supposedly-perfect brother, which has fostered in him a feeling of automatic inferiority that he has had trouble shaking, even as an adult who has little contact with his family.

skills (optional): n/a mechanical engineering, costuming (specifically tactical), anything else tech related
    housing (optional): surprise me!!

    name: Jonathan "John" Wick
    canon: John Wick: Chapter 2
    canon point: End
    age: 46

(canon) background: John Wick & John Wick: Chapter 2

abilities: "I once saw him kill three men in a bar with a pencil. With a fuckin' pencil."

    strengths:
"John, is a man of focus, commitment, and sheer fucking will."

Whether John Wick is your enemy or your ally, everyone can agree he is a man worthy of respect. An exemplary assassin, and upholder of the criminal code, John is well-regarded by his peers earned both his status and his retirement. He doesn't posture, or lie, and is devoid of pride or prejudice. If John Wick has a problem with you, you'll know, and in a world of back-stabbers and snitches, honesty is synonymous with fearlessness. Few men are strong enough to walk away from the underworld, and fewer still are welcomed back with open arms.

The Baba Yaga isn't just a cautionary tale for naughty children. John's work ethic, as evidenced by his rap sheet, is no work of fiction. John Wick delivers. Where there's a will, there's a way, and John has no shortage of will. Once John's set his mind to a task, however impossible it might be, there's nothing and no one that can stop him from doing his damnedest to accomplish it. Only death itself could keep John Wick from fulfilling his obligations, and even then, the Grim Reaper is hesitant to fuck with him.

A faithful husband, and loyal friend, John's commitment to those he loves is limitless, and his heart irrevocable. To remove his wedding band is to cut off his finger. John cannot be bought, seduced or threatened, and there's no stopping his vengeance once it's earned. If John Wick were to sell his soul to the devil, it would only be to bring back his wife.

    weaknesses:
"John Wick, you're not very good at retiring."

John is a united front against the world, but at his core he's a man at war with himself. There's John Wick, the assassin, and John, husband and dog-owner, and neither has fully reconciled themselves to the other.

After leaving the underworld to retire in peace with his wife, John did his best to bury the darker side of himself along with the tools of his trade. He could live as half a man with Helen to complete him, but without her he is dangerously unbalanced. After losing Daisy, Marcus, his home, and any chance of returning to his life as just 'John', he's a ticking time-bomb waiting to go off. Any perceived slight against himself, someone, or something he cares about (he's very particular about his car), is punishable by death, adding weight to his already strained sense of conscience.

John Wick the killer, driven by emotion, is more weapon than man, and a weapon cannot be reasoned with. Self-destructive, self-hating and hellbent on revenge, his rage is all-consuming. John couldn't kill Helen's cancer, so he'll kill everything in its stead, until he has no choice but to turn on himself.

skills (optional): Expert tactician, marksman, combatant, and driver. Conversational Russian.

    character information
    name: Victor Nikiforov
    canon: Yuri!!! On Ice
    canon point: Post Ep-10
    age: 28 (27 + time in Eluvio)

(canon) background: Victor on the YOI Wikia. His history is largely more professional than personal (please ignore the personality section there, it's... more conjecture than fact.)
In the process of heading to the rink for the men's singles short program, Victor found himself instead waking up in the medical bay of the Eluvio and being sent in for orientation. From what he was told and understood, and what he believed, he'd been pulled into another universe and was going to be residing here permanently. He was the only one from his world, though his dog had managed to be pulled in as well.

Victor ended up taking up calendar keeping after a winter festival was held on what worked out coincidentally to be around his birthday; thus he ultimately came to track time passing on the Eluvio according to ship-days and an Earth calendar. In his initial time on ship he made an effort to familiarise with fellow new-anomaly arrivals and share information as it came up; he spoke extensively with crew and civilians to learn how improbable it was to ever get back to home universes, how work was assigned, and how people left the ship at all. It started him networking as a necessary means of also keeping him from wallowing in guilt and sadness for believing he abandoned Yuuri to face the Grand Prix Final on his own. When Yuuri arrived weeks later, Victor was both incredibly happy and distressed: unlike Victor (as far as we know), Yuuri has an extended, loving family who'd be missing him forever. Since again, contextually, they both (reluctantly) believed they were in this new universe permanently.

The Eluvio stopped at two planets during his time in residence. Oros was the first, and while heavy-hitter teams were recruited out of new arrivals, Victor ended up volunteering efforts in observing one of the native sapient species as an excuse to get off-ship and talk seriously about concerns with what had been going on. While on planet, he and his mission companions (Yuuri and Eichi, a sickly idol) were ambushed by the Fek and Victor was abducted away to their village. While this ultimately resolved peaceably, it brought to ground how unprepared he and Yuuri were for handling these things. Victor asked around and started learning self-defense from several people at that point; getting the basics down and sticking to wanting to learn how to defend, disarm, and get out of bad situations rather than how to inflict harm.

When the heavy hitters pulled out of Oros, the planet started coming under nuclear bombing. Victor was one of the volunteers on shuttles to retrieve and evacuate as many of the native sapients as could be managed before the situation became untenable. He had no special skills, thus he was there as a body to help guide refugees on board and offer what help in keeping people calm or putting pressure on wounds as he could manage. Because his mission team had been familiar with some of the members of the Fek species, he and the other team members were requested by the Fek refugees to be their liaisons with the ship at large.

While the ship fleet was on course leaving Oros, on about what Victor calculated to be Valentine's Day, all systems in the fleet went down simultaneously. Victor used his skills in moving through zero-g to help work with others and check in on Yuuri and close associates onboard. As life support systems were restored, he ended up proposing to Yuuri the next morning after making breakfast, while they were all operating under emergency lighting. It didn't seem worth waiting for a perfect moment as their lives kept having chaotic turns... which was further exemplified when a few days later, bodies of former PC's were being located on ship by other PCs. Gruesome bodies, later identified in the medical lab.

A total of four murders occurred before the fleet came into orbit around another planetary system, Bajikan. With the ship's systems still largely failing, more time was spent on planet as a means of being in a more open environment and also being away from the constant threat of system failure. While the main city was divided into seven districts corresponding to each of the seven biblically acknowledged sins, the outer, smaller islands were not, and Victor spent more time exploring these as well as strengthening ties with fellow PCs. Toward the end of the month Yuuri was kidnapped by a ninja for interrogation while they were out on a date (Victor was attacked and Yuuri hauled off when the two of them tried running AS YOU DO) and Victor sought out another ninja he knew to track Yuuri down and get him back. It'd be after their return to their bunk on the Eluvio following this that they were pulled through the portal to Riverview.
    abilities:

    • Olympic level athletic ability: Victor has and does compete at the highest level in his particular sport, winning gold in all his competitions for the last five years straight (which would include during at least one Olympics, thus suggesting he's also an Olympic gold medalist). He's in top physical condition and is also highly flexible; his reflexes are honed, and he's capable of doing dry jumps/rotations from a cold start because of course he is. He's also capable of moving well in zero-g now... for all that isn't really relevant. Still!!!
    • Dancing: this is more because he is an excellent choreographer in figure skating singles (and, apparently, can manage this for pairs skating as well) but we know he's a good dancer, between his wild night with drunk!Yuuri Katsuki and his own abilities as a choreographer.
    • Choreography: specifically for designing skating programs (primarily singles, at least one pair skate), but dancing in general is something he can likely swing. He's an artistic man within this context, and intelligent and adaptive.
    • Languages: Victor's fluent in Russian, English, and French. Over the course of the series he's shown to be picking up Japanese as well after eight months of immersion (the differences in how he "speaks" when in English versus the way he "speaks" to indicate he's talking in Japanese when in Barcelona being an indication of such) and seems to have a good ear and aptitude for picking up languages or phrases as needed.

    strengths:

focus/drive. Victor has been focused on his skating career for the last twenty years, perfecting his art over the course of time passing and creating more and more difficult programs to skate and skate perfectly. His coach remarks that Victor's an idiot for never having a back-up plan, because he's that confident he'll never mess up (any of his jumps in this case), and that's true. He's strict with himself (and Yuuri, once he's "coaching" him), drives and perfects his programmes to give the best possible performance to his audience and the judges. He applies this to figuring out the means of adapting to and surviving in new situations and circumstances, where focus and a drive to succeed help him adapt and look to learning new skills as they become relevant and necessary. In Eluvio, this extended to learning how to move in zero-g and picking up self-defense training (along with language tutoring) based on the course of events he lived through.

charisma/crowd handling. Victor's noted in canon to always be kind to his fans, and he's an easy, laid back flirt as well as easy-going when surrounded by fans, even in langauges he doesn't know. He's used to living a life in the public eye and has his ways of handling the press and the public to keep interactions smooth and within boundaries he accepts. This leaves him fairly capable at handling social niceties and more political(ish) situations, such as those encountered with sponsors and bigwigs in his sport; it extends to him learning how to better network when networking is a survival mechanism and not just a social outreach. In Eluvio, this meant keeping in touch with and being a welcoming face for new arrivals, specifically to keep aware of the arrivals of people on ship and networking with those who'd arrived since he had, as the new arrivals seemed to be largely on their own.

intelligence/manipulation/calculation. Victor is intelligent, for all he's also laidback and presents as whimsical (and is whimsical based on his desires to be so). Where he isn't intuitive in reading emotional states in people when it comes to needing to support those emotions, he is very intuitive at reading the emotions of a crowd, or in manipulating people to provoke or provide responses or reactions that work in his favour or toward the ends he prefers. He knows how to play and provoke people so they push for their best; it's not an unkind sort of manipulation, but it sure as hell is calculated. (Pushing Yuuri to react, pushing Yuri P to react, trying to provide the impetus for both to improve.) This can and does backfire on him when he's not providing the right kind of impetus, such as with Yuuri, but he adjusts and changes his approach as he learns what works better. He's willing and able to admit he's wrong; he actively learns from his mistakes when they're important to him. Or in a larger context, when important to his survival/the survival of those he loves. He's also literally calculating, given how scores in figure skating work and keeping up with it on the fly and how to adjust point scores as one goes. Pretty good at some mental math!

    weaknesses:

whimsical. While being whimsical isn't inherently negative, with Victor it's a nod to his tendency to be forgetful about things he doesn't find personally important. This comes as a frustration to those who know him; the fact he can also decide to pursue something wholeheartedly without listening to outside input can lead to drastic seeming decisions following his own logic. Such as moving to Japan to take up Yuuri on his request that Victor be his coach. Whimsy can also be dangerous when it comes to pursuing activities or taking up missions (so to speak) without fully thinking through consequences or being adequately prepared for what may come up in the process. Whimsy can also lead to him dismissing people out of hand because they're not of personal interest to him. He's been working on this outside of his normal setting as a necessary reality for survival.

emotional disconnect. I'm not sure how best to phrase this, but Victor struggles with understanding points of view, emotionally, that are different from his own. While he learns over time to offer emotional support, he is not intuitive about this, even when he really cares about the person/people involved. Victor's so used to relying on himself for emotional support that his first assumption is that everyone else does the same or would outright ask if they need help. This is not true. Yuuri tells him this while crying and shouting. It seems to make an impact, thankfully! (Though all is not suddenly smooth sailing.)

(over)confidence. While also a positive trait, Victor misses cues and clues from those around him when things aren't as okay as he believes because his confidence in his understanding of himself and what's around him. Where confidence is a weakness is when he doesn't communicate his confidence in others to the people in question, or where he makes assumptions based on his own confidence that leaves a lack of support for those who need his support. It creates a blind spot that can lead to unfortunate situations when his confidence is unfounded, or causes miscommunication because his confidence in people knowing what he means or being on the same level is not always merited. It leads to him mistakenly believing things are being handled, or being better handled, than they are in truth.

skills (optional): adaptability, athleticism, charisma? choreography... what counts here, who would employ this man.

housing (optional): Shared housing, please! Pending Yuuri Katsuki apps and is accepted, shared housing with him would be great.
