applications: open

Applications will be open from 10:00 PM EST on the 1st of every month until 10:00 PM on the 7th of every month. They will be processed as quickly as possible after they are submitted; if you have not received a response by the 10th of the month, feel free to contact the mod.

Applications will be open from October 1st until December 7th, and will be processed on a first-come first-served basis.

● Please post the entirety of your application in a comment to this entry.

Applications may receive a verdict of Approved, Declined, or Revisions.

● Declined applications can be reworked and resubmitted during the next application cycle. If an application is declined 3 times, it cannot be resubmitted.
● Revisions must be submitted within 48 hours of the revision request being sent out. If this is impossible due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mod.

● There are currently 58 Character Slots still available in the game.

● While the game is close to character cap, reserved applications will be processed before unreserved applications, with unreserved applications being processed at the end of the cycle until cap is reached.

● Application Queue: All applications that would put the game over character cap will be placed in the queue below and processed on a first-come-first-serve basis. Applications in queue will be processed as drops happen, regardless of whether the application cycle is complete.

● Accepted character types: fandom, original, canon AU
● Non-accepted character types: fandom OC, AU
● The character limit is 2, with 2 apps allowed per month; players can buy up to a maximum of 4 character slots with AC bonus points. There is a cast cap of 15 characters per cast at this time.
● Linked samples should be no older than 1 year.
● Application challenges are not allowed at this time, but if you would like to apply for a character that is on reserve, please submit the application with "not reserved" noted in the subject line, and your application will be considered if the reserved application is declined or not turned in.

● CLARIFICATION ADDED 04/02/2017: Applications must fit in ONE COMMENT on the application page. In special situations such as original characters or canon characters without an information link, please try to keep the summary concise and stick to major turning points. If you have been as concise as possible and it absolutely will not fit in one comment, please store the background section in an entry on your journal/musebox/website and link it to keep the application within one comment.

● CLARIFICATION ADDED 02/03/2018: The Strengths and Weaknesses sections are a stand-in for the usual personality section and should relate to the character's personality strengths and weaknesses. These sections should not include anything related to abilities and the weaknesses should not be 'positives in disguise' (for example, stating that a character has a weakness to iron because they are a fairy would not be an acceptable response to the weaknesses section, nor would stating that a character is too generous). Every character has good and bad personality traits, please include both.

● CLARIFICATION ADDED 03/10/2018: Linked samples must be from a publicly available source. Friends-locked samples are not acceptable for use (via screencaps or other methods), unless they have been unlocked and made public.

● network sample: write out or link to an example of how your character would communicate over the network; this sample does not have to be long, but it must clearly show your character's personality and a good understanding of their voice; links can be from the test drive meme, other games, PSLs (as long as they are not AU), or memes - but should not break the fourth wall (Dear Player etc.)

● prose/action sample: write out or link to an example of how you write your character in interactions; this sample should be a bit longer and can be done in prose or action bracket style and can be set in the game or your character's canon, though please avoid over-use of NPCing other characters - this is about your character; links can be from the test drive meme, other games, PSLs (as long as they are not AU), or memes - but should not break the fourth wall (Dear Player etc.)

His particular WS includes Riona Cousland becomes the HOF and she, along with her party, saves Cullen from the Tower of Kinloch and repair the Circle, brokers peace with the werewolves and Dalish elves in the Brecillian Forest, helps Bhelen Aeducan to tkaethe throne of Orzammar after receiving the crown made by the Paragon Caridin before the Anvil of the Void was destroyed; chooses not to taint the Urn of Sacred Ashes in Haven to cure Eamon Guerrin of his near-death poisoning; has the restored Circle save Conner Guerrin so no blood magic need be used and Isolde Guerrin lives; Alistair Theirin becomes King of Ferelden and marries Riona Cousland after the end of the Fifth Blight.

In Kirkwall, Garrett and Carver Hawke immigrate with their mother during the scramble from the Fifth Blight; side with the mercenary company to gain entrance to the city proper; discover the red lyrium idol with Varric Tethras and Anders the mage only for Carver to catch the Darkspawn Taint and have to join the Grey Wardens so he’d live; recruit all companions. Garrett then goes on to romance Merrill the former First of the nearby Dalish clan; gives the book to Isabela during the Qunari invasion; single-handedly fights the Qunari Arishok and is named Champion of Kirkwall; slays Anders after he blows up the Chantry and kills hundreds of innocent people to start a war; sides with the mages in the Kirkwall Circle, kills Orsino and then Meredith; leaves Kirkwall to draw off attention to his companions.

At Haven and Skyhold, the Herald of Andraste/Inquisitor is Mahanon Lavellen, a Dalish Hunter of Clan Lavellen; sides with the mages during the struggle between the mages and Templars, but conscripts them into the Inquistion as they have shown they cannot be trusted; romances Cassandra Pentaghast; reconciles Empress Celene and her elven lover Briala; chooses to leave Hawke in the Fade to fight the Nightmare; conscripts the Grey Wardens to fight alongside him; chooses to save the Qunari Dreadnaught and solidifies alliance; drinks from the Well of Sorrows himself; helps Morrigan find her son Kieran in the Fade but recruits the Guardian of Mythal to help fight Corypheus; backs Vivienne to be chosen as Divine Victoria, successor to Divine Justinia.

● abilities: When taking lyrium, Cullen can nullify magic, overpower demons, take down rogue mages and cleanse an area of curses just like any other Templar. However, when he is not, he still has all of the physical training and skill of a competent warrior and the ability to both inspire men to follow him and the education to be an excellent war general and advisor to the Inquisitor.

● strengths:
- Cullen is extremely self-aware of his defects. After some time of reflection the fact that he didn’t do enough and allowed his anger and hatred to blind him for a while to the suffering of everyone in Kirkwall, he begins to change and grow. It’s this that allows him to leave the Templar Order when he realizes it’s broken and he can no longer help others from within and joins the Inquisition.
- Cullen is extremely protective of those in his charge. It doesn’t matter If they are soldier, mage, Templar, civilian or the Inquisitor, he will make sure that as many people are safe as he can possible manage. It is, in fact, part of why he is so good at being a leader, but only because he knows that every person he couldn’t save deserves to share in the credit of the victories the Inquisiton secures.
- Procuring his loyalty isn’t exactly the easiest. You must either prove that you are worth his time or someone who is willing to go as far as he is to help others. If you can do that, Cullen is the man you want to guard your back, to support your moves—even if he doesn’t initially agree with it, and he will hunt down anyone that attempts to harm you. He is as fierce and as loyal as the Mabari Warhounds of Ferelden, which is rather fitting, considering he will always be a Ferelden citizen, a child of the village of Honnleath.

● weaknesses:
- Cullen can be rather serious and driven. He will throw himself into his work to avoid issues with his personal life, work, and the lyrium addiction he is fighting. Because of the fact that he is so ready to give 500% to what his cause is, if he cannot give all that he is, he feels inadequate to do his job. This is a fact that is actually brought up in conversation with Cullen that others find him too serious. Of course, the other person is Varric, who calls him Curly, so who knows if he’s completely earnest about his assesment either.
- He is a man haunted by his nightmares and failures. While this allows for a lot of personal growth, it has also made him look and feel older than his thirty years. Adding to that is the fact that he has stopped taking the addictive lyrium mixture the Order relied on so heavily for its troops. So, not only is he suffering from what amounts to withdrawal from magical cocaine, he has nightmares of the time he was held captive by the mages he was supposed to protect in Kinloch and the guilt of not doing enough in Kirkwall to shackle him down and self-flaggelate with.
- He has been known to have a rather bad temper. After being saved at Kinloch by the Hero of Ferelden, he insists that all of the mage of the Circle are blood mages or tainted and impetuously calls for the entire Circle to be killed. When he’s in Kirkwall, he also goes after a Templar recruit that is behaving suspiciously and is found by Hawke’s party beating the crap out of the guy for information. By Inquisition, he seems to have mellowed, but there are times where his temper shows its ugly head, especially in the War Room with the other advisors when Templars are dismissed by Leliana in favor of the mages.
